Abhay Movie Review

Movie Review By N.Jagadish

Abhay Abhay, the movie, is mix n match of several neighborhood tinsel town movies and has somewhat resemblance to a previous Kannada movie by the same story writer Janardhana Maharshi. The predictability of the script is so much predictable that it makes mockery of prediction without giving any chance to predict.

Got confused?!….. then take a peek at the predictable story.

Abhay (Darshan) predictably is a lively guy who falls in love predictably with a girl, Aarthi (Aarthi Thakur), who has a predictable flashback of some predictable goons who have eye on her for same old predictable reason with whom Abhay predictably fights in usual predictable fashion with predictable nach, gaanas and dishum dishums sprinkled through out the movie. So by now you might have got some predictions right!

Darshan’s role doesn’t pose any challenge to the challenging star’s acting caliber and he cakewalks thru the character as it has nothing new to offer. Aarthi Thakur, mom of two kids, appears well in shape and does good job of her role but falters in dance sequences. Om Prakash Rao tries hard but most of the time fails to cheer the audience. Pradeep Rawat only screams and cringes without lip sync. Salim Baig is no way near to acting. Others are there for just namesake.

Also See

Surprisingly the predictable movie has unpredictable tunes, thanks to V. Harikrishna, gathering more than half of the stars it has scored. All songs are shot well but again have predictable choreography. Since half of the movie is shot in foreign locations, the screen appears rich and eye catching. The fights are routine by Raviverma.

The director Mahesh Babu has done routine job with highest degree of predictable precision. The dialogues written by him are below par compared to industry standards.

For hard core Darshan fans there is no other go but for others it is one time affair mainly for its songs.

Baanu Kempadanthe song is superb. Aarti Thakur looks stunning in the song. So simple but awesome steps. This song is an audio-visual spectacle. Great work by Harikrishna(MD), Sunitha Goparaju(singer), and the choreographer, and cinematographer.

Its high time that these kinda movies should be stopped from making. Darshan is one of the good actors in the KFI and he is apt for different kinda roles. The heroine is no more than useless with no efforts at all in dance sequences. Its been a clear view that most of the today’s heroines are not at all qualified for a real heroine role as they bring no talent from the so called modelling world. They neither carry any good education background. They only know to twist their bodies in songs.
