Pooja Gandhi has hit Sandalwood screen like thunderstorm! But who’s complaining of the downpour? Pooja Gandhi’s varied roles since the Mungaru Male times have seen the torrents and the torments of the industry. And now while she still stands basking in the post-Taj Mahal after showers comes ‘Anu‘. Anu is a remake of Tollywood’s Anusuya that was played by Bhoomika. Produced by Bala, Anu is directed by Shiva Ganapathy. The other interesting minutia about Anu is the metamorphosis of shisya into director! Incidentally Shiva Ganapathy’s inspiration for ‘Anu’ comes from the times when he was assistant director to Ravi Babu’s ‘Anasuya’! The movie is the much touted female centric, action packed thriller. As with most filmy titles, the film is about Anu who is played by femme fatale Pooja Gandhi, a TV journo. She chances upon a murder accidentally and then the drama and mystery unfolds. Producer Balu himself plays the leading male role to squeeze into the remaining screen-space left behind by Pooja and Duniya Rashmi who has also bagged a chunk of role. The thriller serving of the film is the serial killer who leaves behind a trail of intestines hanging out!
The screenplay is supposedly more riveting than the Tollywood version. But then we hope that it is more than Pooja Gandhi’s oomph that will keep the Sandalwood audiences glued to their seats!

very interesting movie i watched it twice but wish to say one suggestion two roles are unexpected ie,sundar raj as dcp ,and another a comic computation held between a reporter who is a colleague to pooja in movie ..overall its an interesting movie i wish to make pooja another project with still more efforts…
Many people are telling that ‘Anu’ movie is very nice.. Someone also said that its remake of some Telugu movie.
I will see the movie this week..

i’ve seen the telugu version. its really a great movie. i doubt the kannada version will have the same quality though.
anyway, this film is good for pooja gandhi. finally she gets a great role after acting in many waste movies. good luck
