Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu Music Review

December 22nd, 2009 at 11:50 pm

BT Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Good score for no gloss!

CheluveyeNinneNodalu Just as you begin to think that Harikrishna has been roused from making mundane melodies and ‘struck gold’ with some catchy tunes with Raaj – The Showman and Maleyalli Jotheyalli; he disappoints in Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu (CNN). CNN could have well been a nice, listenable album if not a chart-buster; but for the all-too-familiar mixes that jinx it. A few things stand out starkly in the album. The first being striking similarities in tunes from Tollywood and Bollywood making you wonder if Harikrishna’s gold mine struck coal, the other being Shivanna’s winning score in singing. Overall the CNN album is liberally dotted with soft, slow, melodious numbers and two racy tracks as well.

Janumana Kotta (Shivrajkumar): Namma very own Hatrick Hero welds the mike in this number that thanks everyone beginning from mother to maestros to the entire loka for almost everything under the sun. Shivanna navigates through the ups and downs of the song with ease. It comes with no surprise knowing that the Raj family has a generous endowment of singing genes as well.

Janumada Jodi (Sonu Nigam, Sunitha Goparaju): ‘Lifelong partner my prince, made boat ……’ rolls on endlessly in Sonu’s and Sunitha Goparaju’s voice. Lyrics are by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and Harikrishna sprinkles in a substantial Bollywood flavor to the track.

Olave Ninne Nodalu (Vaani Harikrishna): This number with simple beats and suave tunes in Vaani Harikrishna’s nice-to-hear voice wraps you in a romantic feel. Somehow the swirl of the tunes could possibly remind you of a number or two from a Telugu musical hit ‘Nuvvu Nenu’.

CheluveyeNinneNodalu-agra

O Priyatama (Sonu Nigam, Sunitha Goparaju): This ‘Priyatama ‘number has a feel of sweet sour melancholy. Opening with Sunitha Goparaju’s tones that are well complimented by Sonu’s rich voice; O Priyatama is one of those slow romantic numbers that gently tugs at your heart strings if you are soft- hearted.

Seere Nerige Sari- (Udit Narayan, Shamitha Malnad): The interplay of reed, string and echoes of ‘shanno-nano’ gives Seere Nerige a promising start. Well, from start to finish, this Seere song keeps the tempo and pep in a replica of Kaminey’s – Raat ke Dhai Baje

Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu (SPB): Title track ‘Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu’ in the calorific voice of SPB is all melodious and harmonious. It could well race to the top-notch place; that is if you can beat off the ‘Nuvvu Nenu’ effect.

Hamsa Hamsa Hamsalekha (Kunal Ganjawala): Bollywood style or Bebo numbers; our Sandy counterparts are smart enough to catch on. In the name game; we have this number rolling out on none other than music man Hamsalekha- should we say good thinking Nagendra Prasad. Harikrishna has been quick enough to mix in beats and twists to make this number sound as peppy as possible.

seere nerige sari composed by hari is similar to kadalo kan kadalo from ak47 composed by hamsalekha. But that song is beautifull.

Sonu Nigam’s first song in Kannada was “Preethi nee illadhe” ,which is evergreen romantic song in Sandalwood. In CNN ,the song he sung is nice with grt potential to be hit among the music lovers.

I would rate it at 3.75/5….Music is totaly different from the earlier movies of Shivanna movies after a considerable gap.A true music lover will easily fall in love with atleast 4 songs for its lyrics and good n pleasant feel factors. There seems to be scope for dance in minimum 3 songs much to the delight of Shivanna fans after a long time.Eagerly waiting for the movie.

HariKrishna is composing orginal tunes and morever he is currently most busy capable of composing any type of tunes.GuruKiran is not behind,he too is capable but needs good offers to capatalise.

  25. amoolya on February 7th, 2010 8:38 pm

Howdu Harikrishna is the one and only highly influenced stars. None of his songs look original. Alle ille chow chow bath maadi he makes songs. He owns every Hindi and Tamil music album that comes into market

  26. Sandalwood on February 7th, 2010 6:15 pm

Yes agreed. There is scarcity of Music Directars in the Industry.

  27. VijayaPrasad on February 5th, 2010 7:38 pm

Frankly speaking HariKrishna is one and only star MD of the Industry.

  28. happy on February 2nd, 2010 11:19 am

  35. Sandalwood on January 13th, 2010 10:05 am

    VenkatNarayan and others are true.
Nowadays audio rights and its market has gone high since people involved in purchasing are more focused on quality of music, lyrics ,song picturisations and above all hype and castings.Good and positive signs for Industry.

  36. SwethaRai on January 12th, 2010 11:03 am

There are several ways to keep track of audio, one of the common way is to have group of neutral audiences and get thier feedbacks.Likewise i heard that its nice one Post-Jogi.

  37. TK on January 12th, 2010 10:10 am

Janumada Jodi is nice flavoured track with feel good qualities.

  38. Bellary Manja on January 11th, 2010 10:23 pm

  39. Suresh on January 11th, 2010 4:57 pm

Audio is getting good feedbacks from everywhere.@Vrushchika,its time for you to reconsider your viewpoints on songs,md and directar.

  40. NK on January 11th, 2010 7:09 am

I think Seere Nerige is a good one too. Song has some northie tunes but lyrics are good to hear.

  41. Alien on January 9th, 2010 10:16 am

    @Kumar
I agree your points to core.Even industry is risk less compared to other languages.Bcoz of liars and money minded medias, false informations has been passed on to the audiences.

  42. Kumar on January 8th, 2010 8:12 pm

    @Venkatnarayan & others
Audio market was always doing ok…but now it might be doing better.
Guys like naidu/velu of Lahari and others always say “audio market is down”, “we are not making money since 500 years” are lying so that they get better deals for audio rights.

  43. Legend on January 8th, 2010 12:18 pm

Title song is simply awesome taking us to different world.

  44. Venkatnarayan on January 5th, 2010 12:45 pm

Audio market for all movies has been in downer side. Now after Raj andManaasare ,it has picked up well. Now CNN,JMM,SK are doing good business.

  45. Deepak on January 5th, 2010 10:51 am

Songs are simply superb.. Especially O Priyathama and Janumadha Jodi are mindblowing.. and Ms. Vrushchika, i think u should also start re-considering ur ideas on the song and the director and Harikrishna.. I feel u dont have a sense of music at all…:(
Well, i am sorry to tell u this..
After viewing your comments, i listened to it a couple of times and had to come to this conclusion..

  46. Total Kannada on January 4th, 2010 5:03 pm

Good to hear that audio is doing well.Even JMM and SK audio sales has been impressive according to some source.

  47. Suresh on January 2nd, 2010 9:37 am

Love all songs but title track,Janumana Kotta and remix are my favourites.

  48. Tamassu on December 29th, 2009 1:10 pm

Gloss is surely there in the forms of melodies. There are also two catchy and peppy numbers in undefined forms.

  49. Raaj-The Show man on December 29th, 2009 10:06 am

Listened and liked Shivanna song very much, its difficult song and demanded singing from Sonu or anyother. But he has sung well with good modulations despite being not professional singer.

  50. Gururaj on December 28th, 2009 10:28 pm

Songs are good.. Harikrishna is on the top of the chart now.. :-)
O Priyathama was one of the best songs of the year with nice tune and lyrics. Couldnt believe S Narayan was the lyricist of the song…

  51. Jayanth on December 25th, 2009 8:16 pm

Songs are melodious with nice feel.

  52. KFI on December 25th, 2009 12:33 pm

    @SheshachandraVyas,
Can you substantiate your claim of CNN music being “best album of 2009″??? Just curious how these “best movie of 2009″, “best album of 2009″, “highest grossing movie in history” etc etc numbers come up in KFI, as there is no board/organization to keep track of sales/records??

  53. Suresh on December 25th, 2009 10:16 am

Title and Sonu nigam sung songs are haunting lot at the moment.

  54. SheshachandraVyas on December 24th, 2009 10:46 am

    Best album of 2009.
Most haunting song is”Janumada Jodi”,which is closely followed by Dr SP sung title song which is melodious with nice pleasant feel.
“Janumana Kotta” is simply superb,Shivanna scores a lot with good voice modulations, range and calibre. The lyrics are awesome.”O Priyatama” is slow melody number.Overall good album after “SIL”.
The quality of audio is as par national standards. For the first time the purchasers will get making VCDS.

  55. Kumar on December 23rd, 2009 11:53 pm

Just listened to porki songs..posting here since there is no porki music review [hope there will never be]…felt like someone is hitting with a big “parke”….they should distribute headache pills along with album!!!

  56. vrushchika on December 23rd, 2009 11:44 pm

This is an average album – it seems a lot money has been spent on the movie but the songs are not on par of the expectations. I think Raghuram, the director, has a bad taste of music or Harikrishna is not upto the mark.

Harikrishna seems to be loaded with work and he should consider taking a break like Manomurthy and come back with fantastic music after a while.

  57. Kumar on December 23rd, 2009 11:41 pm

    Good album…
BTW things i dont like are
    1.remixed songs
2.monotonous lyrics like ‘nee ilde naanu illa’…where did all the creative writers go?

  58. Suresh on December 23rd, 2009 4:37 pm

    Gururaj

Go and ask K.G.Road and Tempatation audio shops folks, this audio is best of 2009 and top in sales.

  59. Gururaj on December 23rd, 2009 11:37 am

Looks like Harikrishna is not lucky for Shivanna… even the other movie(Paramesha Paanwala) was not musical hit(it was also by Harikrishan i guess)…

  60. Vinodh on December 23rd, 2009 10:53 am

the songs r melodious, Suchitra Preetham you can re-consider to increase your rating.. “O Priyatama” really touches the heart..

Got something to say?
