Circus Not Classy Enough!

February 4th, 2009 at 11:07 pm

Circus Come Friday, and Dayal’s Circus will be out of Aparna in Majestic to make way for Suri’s much expected Junglee. While we believe that the film is taken off due to its poor box office collections, Dayal believes that only class audience is seeing the movie and not the mass audience. So what does it mean? Class audience does not watch films in Aparna? Or do all the people with so called “class” go only to multiplexes to watch their “class” movies?

The argument looks delectable; but sadly even that’s not true. Let’s for a moment assume that Circus is liked only by class audience and poor front bench audience who are overfed with the same old stories didn’t understand a visionary called Dayal. But Circus is already taken off from all the multiplexes in Bangalore, where the allegedly class audience usually see their movies. In fact, even PVR, which has a place for all the Kannada movies has removed Circus and made way for other movies.

This only means one thing. Circus has failed both the mass and the class audience. While we really appreciate Dayal’s effort to be unique, it does not give him the right to blame the failure of his films on the unsuspecting audience.

Good luck with your next venture sir, we hope it really has some “class” in it!
