Darshan is now Pokiri
We must admit that we could sense it coming. After Pokiri became a massive hit in Telugu with the current hot property Mahesh Babu, the film is all set to be remade in Hindi with Salman Khan as the hero. Now, Pokiri will be coming to Kannada with the same title and Darshan will play the lead role.
M.D.Shridhar, who has enough experience in directing remake movies (Jolly Days has just hit the theatres) will take up the responsibility of saying action and cut. V. Harikrishna will score the music and a newcomer from North India will be the leading lady of the film.
Pokiri was a hit mainly because of the entertaining narration and Mahesh Babu. While M. D. Shridhar has just to see the DVD of the original, it will be a real challenge for the challenging star to reproduce the same magic of Mahesh Babu in Pokiri.
Let’s wait and watch!

But Sharat, remakes are not that bad.. In fact, I prefer remakes to macchu dominated original kannada movies.. When Ghajini was remade in Hindi, nobody shrugged it off as remake.
We have to accept the fact that we lack writers or directors to come up with a different subject.. Or it might be other way round. A lot of angoota chaap producers are dominating the industry and it might be hard to get producers for a different stories.
just now i commented that this director should start working out with his own subject and now i read that he is remaking Pokiri…. god save Gandhinagar…. People should stop encouraging remake movies otherwise these producers will never learn
