Darshan the Remake Warrior!

March 31st, 2009 at 9:37 pm

darshan It was like a can worms waiting to be opened. Since the Karnataka government transformed itself into a gold hearted genie and granted every wish made by the Kannada film industry, even remake films are eligible for subsidy from the government. And we didn’t even have to wait for two weeks to see the ill effects of this goodwill act by the government. Every other film launched in Gandhinagar is a remake and it’s just the beginning.

Darshan, continuing his faith in remakes has almost finished shooting for another remake film titled Yodha. This is the remake of Tamil film Bose, which starred Shreekanth and Sneha. The shooting is almost completed and the team will soon take off to the foreign locations to shoot the song (maybe the original had a couple of songs in foreign locations!)

The film is directed by Om Prakash Rao and K. M Vishnuvardhan, who handled the camera for Kannadada Kiran Bedi is the cinematographer. And as soon as Darhan finishes Yodha, he will start working in the remake of Telugu’s Pokiri.

Great going Darshan, you are the true remake warrior of Kannada!

All the Darshan movies will be having same storyline and predictable stuffs like 5 fights, itemsong, tapori song, mass song and routine expression and acting. Its highly impossible to differenciate between his movies. If at all he so passinate and expert in remakes, let him try some exceptional other language movies rather then cheap and old stone age heroisms stories.Thier so called fans ,its better not to talk about them.

Watching remakes is big waste and this guy has taken lazy ways to maintain stardom which he will loose soon. The so called fans are all insensible and uneducated belonging to lower middle class group.Remake king has spoiled these Drashan, uppi,Yogesh,Sudeep and he hasent became role model to them in any ways.

Darshan is nearing decade in industry but his track record is poor with full of crap movies. He cant expect waste, dabba of him to be watched by everybody.Un fortunately all his forth coming movies are remakes of other languages. This dude is not saviour of language, art and rest,he is purely here to make money out of his attrocious movies.
Vishnu vardhan didnt earn any identity and respect through out his career and now his position is pathetic…because of remakes and crap movies.Darshan is competing hard with sudeep, upendra, loose mada, vijay for remake yuvaraja slot..

y these ppls ll act like dis…………….90% of films are remakes……….. i think we should rename kannada industry or sandalwood to “REMAKE INDUSTRY OF SOUTH INDIA” shame for kannada producers………………. :x :x :x

Well remaking is not crime! But its all about how you remake it. I have seen couple of kannada remakes. It just lacks the soul. One should realize that while remaking, one should take care about creating the mood, Lighting, camera angles supported by atleast decent acting. All this contributes to the final product. But for these remake warriors , at the end of the day, its all about money. Why cant they etch a nice screenplay out of novels and short stories of literary giants of karnataka like Gnanapite award winner Anandamoorthy for example. But for that it needs some effort man. And these “remake warriors” dont want to invest their time into that. Thats it. By the way am keralite, have stayed in bangalore for 9 years. One of my fav actor is Shankar Nag.

its only in ur mind,u non-kannadiga peoples allways wanted Kannada industry to come down.
    but it will never happen.
all languages makes remake movies, there is nothing called only Kannada movies r remakes.
only we honestly tell its remake but other languages steal from foreign languages and they show as of they wrote the story .

remaking doesn’t represents/defines anybody’s creativity or there ability or there character.

narasimha prasad, u r the no 1 shameless donkey of our country.

I think we shouldn’t d-grade the remake films. If we are ready to read translated stories, why not remake films? The problem is in the films, which being remade. We should ask the producers to remade good films like Ramachari, Apthamitra… etc. See SAVAARI, which released this week. Though this is a remake, its defiantly heart touching movie.

What does “established actors” mean? Darshan, Sudeep, Ganesh…they may have at the most done one or two good swamake movies..rest all are remakes. Puneet and Shivanna cannot even act and their dialogue delivery sucks big time. The only silver line is Girish Kasaravalli

  12. Vignesh on April 6th, 2009 9:57 am

But remake in kannada going towards sucess na………….

But dont comments on the established stars like Darshan, Sudeep, Ganesh etc.

Even Punith also doing READDY remake in Kannada as RAAM.

iTS THE FAULT OF PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR.

Yes i do agree with Kannadiga’s comment saying that the Film Industry should be banned, but it should be done by our own audiences by rejecting remake movies.

  14. Prashanth on April 3rd, 2009 8:40 pm

The reason why people are behind remakes is we are finding plenty of remakes of all heros currently with creativity at its all time low.

Basically its not all that bad to do remakes but at the same time there should be enough number of good own subjects made as movies…..

Also statistically if you see the number of remakes done in other languages from KFI in the past 5 yrs you would probabaly find it as a single digit but the other way is huge.

There is strong need for good sensitive subjects to capture remakes for the industry to grow and get recognized and respected.

  15. bangalore on April 2nd, 2009 3:49 pm

y will these people always be behind remake???????????????

  16. narasimha prasad on April 1st, 2009 11:33 pm

darshan, sudeep, ravichandran, vishnu, ganesh ARE ALL SHAMELESS CREATURES OF KFI.

  17. Kannadiga on April 1st, 2009 4:33 pm

The industry should be banned for 2 years, otherwise KFI will become cheap in front of the neighbour industries

  18. jeevan on April 1st, 2009 3:15 pm
