Dubai Babu Movie Review – D Grade Babu!

Movie Review By Raju Shanbhag

DubaiBabu It’s like one of those snazzy T-shirts that your uncle brings for you from Dubai Chor Bazaar. You think it’s glittering beautifully when you look at it from outside. It’s only when you wear that and step outside that you understand that you are a potential candidate to be a fashion disaster. Similarly, the plot of Dubai Babu looks interesting from the outset; but the execution of the film discards even the remotest hopes of being a clean entertainer.

And we thought Uppi was a Buddhivanta!

Right from the first frame of the film, you feel that the editor of the film was piqued with the movie for some reason and has ditched it midway. It’s as if somebody has shot few sequences which they thought was gigantically funny, and put them together in a haphazard manner using free software available from Microsoft. There is no sense of continuity and the story which seesaws dangerously between mindless flashbacks and confusing narrations, doesn’t help the matters either.

Do not ask us about the story, as we are still in the process of finding out what transpired in that dark room in those unfortunate two and half hours. All we can remember now is some hilarious dialogues (yes, they are there, but they look like unintentional accidents in the bigger scheme of the things), and Nikhita who seems to convey lot many exciting things just with her eyes.

The director of the movie, Naganna stages a return after Bandhu Balaga and it seems the poor box office performance of that movie hasn’t deterred him from being careless about this venture. The execution of the film seems to be right from the days of Eastman color movies.

Buddhivanta Upendra knows there is nothing much in the story and for that matter, in the film; and so, he performs a gimmick of 17 getups which no one notices. Barring a few, dialogues are surprisingly boring in this Upendra film. This is one film, which Upendra can happily bury 17 times so that no one looks at it in the future.

Naganna knows the value of Nikhita and uses her perfectly. She sizzles in songs, fires up the screen with just by standing there and keeps you entertained in this otherwise irritating flick. Don’t go to the movie for Nikhita; but if you do end up in theatre somehow, don’t forget to keep an eye on her!

Other actors have been there and seen all this before.

Forget this movie.

I think upendra is one of the greatest talent person have seen with extraordinary skills which cannot be found easily but about dubai babu its a waste of both money and time.

Why he is not returning to direction after so many failures also, what is his intention to do here. Only money????????????????

The real hero is, was, will be only one that is Shankar Nag, we need a person like SN who was a hard working guy and struggled a lot to give something special to the industry.

Initially I thought upendra is a ultimate replacement for Shankar Nag after seeing the movies like Ssh, OM, A, Upendra which can be considered as eternal creativity but the later part every one knows what exactly happened. So Uppi dont disappoint the industry, Please ask the director to get up from the sleep and give something better if not superb.

We are missing the real fantastic guy who is sleeping in you………………………Awake him.

Time for Uppi to retire – as he has no intention of getting back to direction and the audience has no intention of watching him as an overated actor.

Upendra has became junk and his worst acting capacities is universaly known fact. His forthcoming movies are all low class remakes.
