Ganesh and Darshan in damage control mode!
Driven by series of flops lately, Ganesh has shelved a film under his home-production even before its launch. A movie (Of course, a Tamil remake) was supposed to be launched under his home banner, “Shilpa Creations” and was to be directed by his friend, Nagshekhar (Aramane). Though its an extreme reaction, under the current circumstances, its a smart decision.
Whereas Darshan has rejected a movie called, “Sarvantaryami” which was going to be produced by K.C.N. Chandru. The reason? Darshan was offered a different role in this movie. After the average performance of Navagraha at the boxoffice, Darshan has decided that he’d not venture into any experimental roles. Well, it was not just Navagraha which bombed at box office, there were other movies too like Arjun and Indhra which were typical Darshan movies.

Turning off experimental roles would be another damage to be caused by Darshan to the kannada film industry and Darshan himself. The movie ‘Navagraha’ was well made with a good storyline and an experimental concept which is something rare in the kannada film industry – all the movie lacked was richness to some extent, bad picturization of songs and of course under-use of modern technology which could have turned up the movie in to a big success.
Unlike most popular actors Darshan is one of the few calibrated persons in the industry who can try options and differences. He has proven it at times and he should continue to take on the ramp which the other actors fear about.
Ganesh is a gone case.
