Gange Baare Tunge Baare Audio(Music) Review: Unimpressive Score!
By Raju Shanbhag
After his immensely popular Duniya and highly impressive “Inthi Ninna Preethiya,” we expected great music from Sadhu Kokila in GBTB. The expectations were heightened as the music director is also the director for this film. But it looks as if Kokila is burdened by both these duties and failed in at least one. The music of the film disappoints big time with only one or two songs that are worth listening to.
Iddad Iddang Heltini Keli: Snakes do not have legs, but they crawl for hundreds of miles. Men don’t have brains and girls don’t have it either. Nagendra Prasad who wrote the lyrics of this song which contains the above mentioned revelations is a man…. Singer Jessi Gift tries to make this song chirpy, but it gets boring after a point.
Jaadu Jaadu: It’s magic, but the magic is only in the lyrics. The tune doesn’t have even the slightest connection to magic. When you look at the posters of the songs where two female leads are spotted with wet dresses, you experience many beautiful feelings. One of them is the flashback of a Tamil song which featured Rambha and Devayani in it, along with Vijay. Is the treatment of the song inspired by that song? We will shortly know. The tune is strictly OK.
Hogalu Kelive: Sadhu Kokila finally remembers that he is a music director and a pretty good one at that too. The song is not exceptional, but it’s sweet. You may put it in your favorite list after listening to it a couple of times. The lyric is by Kannada’s current star writer Jayant Kaykini, and although there is nothing spectacular about the writing, it matches the mood of the song.
Nadiyaagi: Udit Narayan is the biggest drawback of this otherwise decent song. Come what may, Udit sings in the same tone, and does not have the varieties of singers like S.P or even Rajesh Krishnan. The song sounds like a one of those melodious Ghazals sung by Jagajit Singh.
Onde Ondu Sari: Rajesh Krishnan always gets the best of songs in the films that have music by Sadhu Kokila, be it ‘Kariya I Love’ You in Duniya or ‘Ondodndu’ in Inti Ninna Prithiya. But this film is a sad exception. Onde Ondu Sari is strictly ok. But Rajesh Krishnan’s amazing singing talent provides life to this song too.
Kannale Gundittu: The lyrics of the songs (at least the beginning of the song) is definitely inspired from the Hindi song “Akhiyon se goli maare” If lyricist K. Kalyan wants inspiration from Bollywood, we can suggest some better songs! Meanwhile, Sadhu Kokila is not inspired by any tunes for this song. But after listening to it once, you wish he was inspired by some good music at least!
