Haage Summane music review by Suchitra Preetham

The after-pause of Mungaru Male’s smash hit number ‘Anisuthidue’ has been the inspirational offshoot for Haage Summane. Not merely by the appellation, Haage Sumane incidentally bursts to the seams with an almost Mungaru-ish musical team! Apart from Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal- who have since, gained Sandalwood’s adoptive status, there is the same lyricist-composer Jodi in Jayanth Kaikini and Manoo Murthy. Hearing the lines and tunes of Haage Summane, you wonder if the simulated effects can retain the magic! Album boasts of tunefully good music but to large extent a bit monotonous. While the first two tracks walk away with the cake, the other tracks are for some summane listening!

Haage summane: Simply superb! Ever since his induction into Sandalwood, Sonu Nigam has wooed over the industry! The play of strings and beat seems to set pace to Sonu’s seamlessly modulated and ebbing voice. The Haage Summane title track is a sure winner.

Haage Summane

Haadonave: Rocking number! Haadonave as said by Sundhi in her ever-rusky tone makes the track a truly have-to-get-up-and-shake-a-leg number. Kunal Ganjawala’s ‘haadona-baa’ croons as response concludes the track.

Odi Bandenu: begins a bit like the ‘minchagi ninu’ mostly because the track opens with guitar strings. Odi Bandenu in Sonu Nigam’s voice sets the pace for a heart-rending number.  Much like ‘minchagi ninu’, this number unfolds slowly but sensitively. The Odi Bandenu in Shreya’s voice is tuneful yet stirring. Her high pitched voice calibrates into the moving background. Both these tracks are nice-to-hear sad songs.

Naanenu Nambodilla: Though reasonably ordinary, this track is endorsed by Shreya Goshal sheer crispy accents. Shreya’s semi-classical interlude gives the rather average onset of the track a slightly weightier edge. A rather average around-the-tree love song with Udit Narayan in accompaniment to Sherya.

Oorella koogi: This track is slightly unconventional both by tunes and lyrics. Line by line it is Keshav Prasad and Supriya Ramakrishnaiah counter-singing to each other. Keshav begins on what he would like to ‘shout-out-to-the-Ooru’ and this is promptly counteracted in all feminity as ‘ninna mathu jasti-aayetha’. Another enjoyable track to sit back and listen to.

I heard the Song from the film. All songs are good specially Title track is superb, simply awesome. Sonu sir hats off to u. Because of Sonu I guess one can love to here Kannada songs. MAnumorthy simply the best music director and his combination with Jayant sir truly amazing. I guess this trio (Sonu, MAno n JAyant) will rule the Kannada music industry,,,,,

I dont know why there is a need to criticize manomurthy when he gives the most decent music in the industry. Gurukiran, V. harikrishna, V Monohar, Hamsalekha all have their own way of providing music. They have repeated the same tunes. Listen to Harikrishna’s aitha lakadi is repeated in “hey kanaka”. The same back ground music has been adopted in Paramesha Panmasala. They are crappy compared to manomurthy’s melody His Background music in movies esp moggina manasu is probably best in kannada movies in the last decade

I think Manu Murthy don’t want to change from his rythm giving the same kind of music using all bollywood singers. Are kannada singers are dead?.if u listen to MM, Gelaya, Milan and now Haage Sumane songs, u will find the some what same kind of music, tones, rythm, I think he is becoming Kannada’s himesh reshammiya.
Mr Manu one day u will be isolated as many good Music Directors are coming up in Kannada Industry, (of course i thank u that u have give break through in Industry where we can see sudden change in KFI) and u will be left behind.
Try something different in music and use Kannada Singers and encourage them.
