Hunt for Yakshini is on!
When you are producing a movie with one of the most happening hunks in the KFI, you would think that heroines would fall over each other to act against that hero. But that isn’t exactly what transpired with T.P.Siddaraju, the producer of the movie Yaksha, starring Yogish, who also happens to be Yogish’s father. To keep the fruits of Yogish’s new found success in KFI within the family, T.P.Siddaraju announced that Praneetha, a distant relative of Siddaraju would be the heroine of the film. He even went ahead and printed her name in the Mahurta invitation and banners of the film.
And that’s when the true ‘yakshini’ of Yaksha started unraveling itself behind the screen.
Actress Pranitha, who has a history of shelved films and rejected offers in her short but eventful career (actually, it ain’t started yet!), declared that although Siddaraju had offered her Yaksha, she had never accepted it. Apparently, this vanishing act from Yaksha was mainly because she has an agreement with Porki’s team and she cannot act in other movies until its release. Even Porki’s team claims that Siddaraju did not get in touch with them about this whole episode.
Before this, Praneetha was supposed to make her KFI debut with Bisile, only to be replaced by Jennifer Kotwal at the last moment. She almost did projects with Puri Jagannath and Bhupati Pandey in Telugu, but those films never hit the floors. She was all set to do Huduga Hudugi with Indrajith Lankesh but the film was postponed. And finally, rumors mills indicated that Yogaraj Bhat had signed up her for Lagori, which never took off. Of course, Lagori is now re-started with a new title Jockey to be directed by Suri instead of Yogaraj Bhat.
Now, Siddaraju has confirmed our sources that he is looking for a new girl for Yaksha. For Praneetha, Yaksha happens to be the latest film in the list of the films that she almost did!
We will keep you posted when T.P.Siddaraju finalizes a new leading lady for his film.
