Ijjodu – M. S Sathyu and Reliance Big Pictures!

Reliance Big Pictures is making a foray into the South Indian film industry and the company is sprinting down the road where few even dare to take a casual walk. The company will be releasing a film called Ijjodu directed by art house favorite M. S. Sathyu. For regular film viewers who crave for their two and half hours of action, entertainment and sentiments, the names Meera Jasmine and Manikanth Kadri may ring a bell. While Meera Jasmine plays the lady on whom the story of this film is based, Manikanth Kadri has composed the music for the film.

Ijjodu depicts, rather artistically, the tradition of Devadaasi, which is rampant in many parts of the state. The film has made noise where it matters the most and has reportedly garnered rave reviews in various film festivals. The film will hit the screens on 30^th of April.

Reliance Big Pictures has produced movies such as Rock On, Paa, Luck By Chance, and 13B. The company has also dabbled with serious cinema such as Sikandar, Samaantar, Shob Charitro Kalponik and so on. In fact, if you look the company’s portfolio, you’ll find equal number of art house cinemas and commercial films filling up its resume.

As told earlier, Ijjodu has music by Manikanth Kadri and the cinematography is by G. S. Bhaskar. It stars Aniruddha Jatkar as the male protagonist.
