Lacks Jhossh

Josh

Josh hails in as a movie for scores of debutants including the music man- Vardhan. For a young and energy-filled college crowd flick, the tracks could have been more frisky and spirited. Five out of the six tracks in this album are completely josh-less numbers! Only suggests that Vardhan has the long and laborious road to take to reach the top.

Ae Maga: (Ranjith): Beginning the Josh music album with ‘Ae Maga’ is kaput on a lot of expectation. The lyrics are just-about-alright, not too bad. For the tunes, the less said the better. The only josh comes in with Jackson’s They don’t really care about us beats.

Thanthane Thanamthane: (Karthik): The only good song in the album and carries some josh too. ‘Thanthane Thanamthane’ is about the Hudugi- who made the Huduga Modi. The song has the pep and Karthik’s trimmed chords freak out on Kaviraj’s whacky notes.

Jothe Jotheyali (Remix): (SPB, S. Janaki, Harsha, Anuradha Bhat): Another one goes the big-fiasco way. The Jothe Jotheyali- Remix version has Harsha rapping away to glory oblivious of the damage. Serious damage to good old golden music!

Namaskaara Sir :(Anoop, Harsha, Chinmayee, Sripada): This song is an introduction of the characters. It starts off well and then it spirals downwards and joins the other songs of the album for music-gone-all-wrong.

Shakalaka Rock N Roll: (Bhargavi Pillai, Vardhan): This supposedly Rock N Roll number can only make the rocks roll. Oops, I meant rocks hurled. There is Bhargavi Pillai’s (who is popular for her Telugu numbers) gravelly gruff voice crooning out in an anglicized Kannada-way. Slightly out of place even with Vardhan joining with some ‘Enrique’- beats this time.

A Mere Bharath Mahan: (Vardhan, Harsha, Chaitra HG, Anuradha Bhat): Patriotism in the blood- A Mere Bharath Mahan; has some good strumming. Again Kaviraj scores well on his lines. For this one Vardhan’s clear whistling interlude saves the song from the pits.

Ya, i agree with santhosh…some of the songs from Josh are melodious…its definitely worth more than 11/2 *…i would like to advice suchithra to listen songs more than twice before making any reviews…..such reviews would give a wrong message to the public…

I think we must encourage such attempts to make movies with original content.

Miss Suchitra i don’t think the album is very poor. its Average and Ae Maga, Thanthane and A Mera Bharath Mahan are good songs. Something different beats from the typical music which is going on in around KFI presently.
What i think is that u really don’t have the taste of music.
So Please i request u to give some good reviews. I have seen lot of biased reviews towards Raj Family and others.

Got something to say?
