Komal opts out of Guruprasad Film!

December 20th, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Komal-Guruprasad In a shocking development, Komal has opted out of Guruprasad’s new film, “Directors Special”. Komal confessed to the media that he’s opting out because he’s not confident that he can carry out this role and he had accepted this movie before reading the full script. The most significant thing that Komal mentioned in the press conference was that he wants to remain non-controversial in the industry. Well.. we guess that’s the real reason for his opting out of the movie.

Though this action is quite understandable from Komal’s perspective, its an unfortunate development from the creative freedom perspective. Taking digs at itself is quite accepted in bollywood. In the movies like Golmaal Returns, Ajay Devgan’s character makes fun of his own old movies. In fact, there are several movies like Luck By Chance, Roadside Romeo which took digs at bollywood and welcomed by public as well as bollywood fraternity. When will KFI grow up?

    @Sandalwood
    Yes you are right,if the current star directar has selfconfidence on thier creativity and stardoms they must and should go for unknown faces and prove thier credentials.

    @Ananth
    There is no mistake on part of Komal,let us not blame on him.If Guru is so confident then he must look out for fresh faces and take example of Shivamani in Josh.Creativity has place provided these directars are egoless and openminded.
    @VenkatNarayan
    To certain extent i agree your points.

    Heard that Komal opted out because the movie budget is very low. He thought that he may not get suitable renumeration for his acting in the movie. So, he backed out.

    Poor Guru… Creative directors have no place in KFI…. this is one of the reason ppl are not watching kannada movies.. all same old lovestories, rowdism, anna -tangi kind of movies…. no place for creativity….

    Guruprasad is educated and different thinking directar.Amazing that it has quit good job in mnc for the passion of movies.Matta was rare movie which tried to show darker sides of swamys and thier kingdoms.Now Jaggesh might have separated from Guru for ego problems.My choice is Ganesh ,since he is loverboy version of Jaggu with almost same bodylanguage and mannerisms.
    Now Gani is completely drowned in monotonous and stupid roles which is rehash of his own earlier movies and also all his forthcoming movies are not very encouraging with series of remakes.I think he is the perfect choice if his supporters are openminded to accept his delicate position.
    Probably he has lost hopes in himself after disasters of Circus,Bombat and rest which were nonwatchable and prevented his UV to come out on screen.
    Think Gani,dont become monotonous lover boy with same Sonu nigam’s song backup,come out of it stop doing stupid remakes if you realy want to grow as actor and earn “relal supporters” .

    Guru, maybe you can try Prakash Rai for this role.. I guess he can portray this role better than Komal and he is not scared of KFI fraternity also.

    @kumar,
    Hahaha… Yea, naav ugitaa irodanna reddygaaru real estate producer-galu hogaLike anta ankondbitre kashta….

    And, yes, ee actors-ge iro birudugalannella tegedu haakabeku.. Avella swaghoshitha…. Those birudu’s and taglines show blind worshipping by (paid) fans….

    Guru’s film Mata was based on real-life happenings in various matas across karnataka. The film came out well [though i think it needed more editing]

    I guess DSP is based on gandhinagar real-life too. It might take a strike on popular actors/directors etc. Since gandhinagar is a feudal soceity where everyone is anna/akka/amma/yejamana/guru/boss/king/star etc…komal doesnt want to be in anyones bad books. So he might have chickened out…too bad for kannada audience.

    To improve KFI, first thing needed to be done is get rid of stupid titles given to all actor/actreses.. e.g. Steven spielberg is just steven spielberg..he is not called ‘marvelous king spielberg’.,,, Brad pitt is just Brad pitt…not ‘muscular super-hero brad pitt’

    KFI,
    Just for fun…..your comment might be taken positively by some producers and directors…since some of them are telugu…and pedda means dodda in there.

    Yea, even I thought Komal Kumara can not do satire… He is good only for “peddu haasya”…. Also, it seems that Komal does not have “dhairya” to do a satire on KFI and other stars… Yelli “nidre”shaka-ra sangha, nirma”pekra”-ra sangha, kannada film chamber etc etc. avaranna boycott maadtaaro anta…

    And, by the looks of it, it seems KFI will not grow up… Yaaryaaro pedda, real estate janagalu and avra maklu films maadake bandu, KFI-na adhogati-ge ilisidaare…. Pedda directors-ge gottirode ondu story – rowdyism, love, badva hudga, shreemanta hudgi… Peddaru…

    Gruruprasad is the only intelligent guy here now… Poor guy, he may feel kind of lost, between Gandhinagar peddas…

    Well said. It’s just a character portayal.
