Krishnan Love Story Movie Review
(3/5) It’s Shashank’s Story!
In the love struck KFI, which churns out films about eternal love day in and day out, there aren’t many filmmakers who will look at the subject practically, without any strings of emotions attached. And then, there are even fewer directors who would make their female leads in the film to follow their minds rather than their hearts. Shashank tries that in Krishnan Love Story, and turns out a bloody neat film, which is only marred by a prolonged climax that gets uncharacteristically sentimental about love and life.
Although the title speaks about Krishna, this story is about Geetha, who is torn between her desire to lead an economically independent life and her love towards Krishna, a guy from the lower middle class family, who is madly in love with her. Until the point of interval, director Shashank carries the story forward with some lively sequences and some beautifully enacted scenes. While his direction is first rate, both Ajay Rao and Radhika Pandit sizzle in their respective their roles.
It’s only after the interval that the story gets serious about true love and the film takes a whole new direction. The liveliness and sensible portrayal of the scenes give away to sentimental melodrama and the film is not as good as it was in the first half.
Few days ago, Shashank had ruffled a few feathers in Gandhinagar when he stated that good films can only be made by good directors. We completely agree with that statement. More than anyone else, Krishnan Love Story is a film by Shashank, and whatever is the fate of the film in the box office, a major part of the credit should go to Shashank. He never gives you a dull moment in the first half, keeping you engaged with some tautly directed scenes and some real good framing of songs.
But Shashank loses his elements in the second half, giving way to standard filmy formulas about love and its purity. Radhika Pandit, who gives a lively performance until then, suddenly turns into a ghostly character, reminding you Revathi in Ram Gopal Varma’s Raat!
Ajay Rao is among the most promising youngsters in KFI. He is tall, lanky, fights well and acts well too. Although he has this grave danger of being typecast as a spurned lover, there are no two ways about his acting abilities.
Radhika Pandit is bubbly in the first half and bad in the second half. Looks like the girl has dutifully done what the director has told her and so, the credit for both her good and bad acting should go to the director. But still, she has a cute face and can act well, and is an asset to the industry. Others like Sharan and Achyuta Rao play their roles well.
Overall, Krishnan Love Story is a neat film. If the second half was as good as the first half, it could have been really good.

There has been mixed views about this movie by different people which is very true. The movie is firstly a very very serious subject which will not be liked by all. Only few people can digest these kind of tragedy throughout the movie. Also most tragedies have become a hit in KFI this movie stands different in the sense that from beginning to end movie seems to be tragedic…the one after “Huliya”. Such kinda movies cannot reach all audience although a good number may like it. There has been precedented hypes given by the movie’s team and wonder why Shashank, who is a good director, is dependant on such things.
The movie would have been a even bigger hit if there had been good dialogues and mild comedy. Sometimes the movie seems real and sometimes very cinematic which reflects mixed opinions. Although there has been good performance from Ajay and Radhika there is a lack of one great scene which can take the movie to a different height. Overall this movie is slightly above average.
There are talks of sequel to this movie which is a not a very good idea.
In continuation to Moggina Manasu there is a high expectation of Shashank and would he better concentrate on new and newer things rather than revolving around the past.
This kind of movie shd been watched by Gals who wil change their lover like dress even though gals changes boys are in love with them only. So who cheats gals plz don;t go back of that gals u never come up in life leave her how she left u. one or another day she wil realize u and ur love. Because LOVE never dies. Love is not a life, but in life love shd be there.
dilip hey if u ppl don like negative vibes read review first then go to a movie . First of all there are less good movies kfi. In between v ve some good stories atleast . Why spoil its name.
superb movie.. its rocking everywhere..seeing signs of a superhit movie after AR..c’mon guys.. dont heed to reviews and all..just enjoy the flick

I have not seen “Raavana” movie. I don’t see much Hindi/Tamil/Telugu movies anyway, so I don’t bother about their reviews. Also, I didn’t say all BT reviews are 100% correct. (Trivia: “Buddhivantha” movie gives examples of typically stupid Hindi and Telugu movies

This is a worst movie i have ever seen in theater. Whats the review? Raju do you have any knowledge about movies. Second half is worst. I prefer all not to go to this movie. And if u really want to know this crap, then go and watch.

They made it a bit low class with cheap dialogues and things , otherwise story line is good , radhika pandit’s acting is good , overall movie is slightly less than good because of the cheap dialogues
Krishnan love story is good movie which has released in this year 2010….Radhika pandith looks awesome n her acting is very good being new comer and its really proud that kannada girl has again gain the charm in the KFI….
Hero Ajay has that typical innocent look right from excuse me….the mind set about the character which he played in the previous movies tell the role in the krishnan love story best suits him….Better then babies of big past hero….err at ‘em
Movie is decent to watch once…..First half is really taken lively, every moment is enjoyable…good songs add to the credit….Second half is typical “Preethi madhura thyaaga Amara” kind….Heroin sacrifices her love for the poverty of life – fate of life i can say….But the emotions are not potrayed well on the screen….looks like something can be added more to make the story moving out of audience track….Life nalli love andre confusion jasti….but it should be in limit rather than showing madness….boys usually show such interest towards loved gals thou watever they might be….prethi andre aange ri….para para heart dil hrudaya….

I heard they have taken real story…might be real i guess….but not to criticize the kannada story….many movies in other language become hit with no story…y cant kannada movie become hit…..Krishnan love story is overall watchable….far better then the big budget movies which ve become flop…

I watched the film finally and got a headache. Something about this movie gives negative vibes after watching. The ending was weird, i mean stupid. first half was okay, atleast the ten mins before intermission was good, but second half has no story and it was just a drag with many unnecessary scenes and bad direction. Too much slapping in the film. When actors have bad skin, they should do good make-up atleast, esp hero and heroine. The fights were horribly choreographed and even unnecessary. Except for the heroine’s characterization, nothing else is great. That also turns sour at the end giving a wrong message. This is not a bad review but i’ll give this film 1.5 stars overall.

ಪ್ರೀತಿ ವರ್ಸಸ್ ಆತ್ಮ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ!ಆಕೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಿಂತ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದ್ದು ಇನ್ನೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಆತ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಮಾಡುವ ದ್ರೋಹಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೋಸ ಮತ್ತೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದೂ ಆಕೆ ಸತ್ಯದ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬಡತನ ರೇಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು, ಅಂಗೈಗೆ ಎಟುಕದ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಬದುಕಿನ ಚಿತ್ತಾರ ಬರೆಯಲು ಮುಂದಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಎಡವುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ನೋವಿನ ಮಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತಾನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಅದೆಷ್ಟೋ ಯೋಜನ ಮುಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ಯೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಯ ಹಾದಿ ತುಳಿಯುವ ಹಂತ ತಲುಪುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಶಶಾಂಕ್ ದೂರದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೋ ನಿಂತು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನೀತಿ ಪಾಠ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕತೆ ಕವಿತೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕವಿತೆಯಲ್ಲೊಂದು ನೀತಿ ಸಂಹಿತೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ದಟ್ ಈಸ್ ಶಶಾಂಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಚೆಲುವಿನ ಚಿತ್ತಾರ! ಇದು ಎಂದಿನ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಂತೆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೇ ನಿಜ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ನಿರಾಳವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ಹೀಗಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೀಗಾದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದು ಸುಳ್ಳೇ ಸುಳ್ಳು!
ಹಾಗಂತ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರ ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ‘ಕನ್ಫ್ಯೂಷನ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ’ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೇ ಚೆನ್ನ ಎಂದು ಕತೆಯ ಪ್ರತೀ ಹಂತವೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟೀಕರಣ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದು ನಿಜವಾದ ಮೇಕಿಂಗ್. ಶಶಾಂಕ್ ಎಂದಿನಂತೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕುತೂಹಲ ಎಂಬ ಕನ್ನಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೇ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕ್ಲೈಮ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕತೆ- ಕತೆಯಲ್ಲ ಜೀವನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ… ಇದು ಖಂಡಿತ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ನಾಯಕಿ ರಾಧಿಕಾ ಪಂಡಿತ್ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಕೆಯಿಂದ ಶಶಾಂಕ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೂ ಮೀರಿ ಅಭಿನಯ ಹೊರಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ ನಾಯಕಿಯಿಂದ ಈ ಮಟ್ಟದ ನಟನೆ ನೋಡಿದ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಲು ಕತೆಯೂ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು. ಯಥಾ ರಾಜ ತಥಾ ಪ್ರಜಾ…ಅಜಯ್ ರಾವ್ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಮಾಗಬೇಕು. ಮೈ ಚಳಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಟಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಎರಡನೇ ಮಾತು.
ಹತ್ತು ಕೇಜಿ ಹೊರುವವನ ತಲೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಕೇಜಿ ಇರಿಸಿದರೆ ಏನಾಗಲಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ?! ಉಮಾಶ್ರೀ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಹಾವಭಾವಕ್ಕೂ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಚ್ಯುತ, ಪದ್ಮಜರಾವ್ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೀದಾ- ಸಾದಾ-ಸ್ವಾದ. ರಾಧಿಕಾ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ‘ಸ್ವಯಂವರ’ ಚಂದ್ರು ತಾನು ಅವಕಾಶವಾದಿ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟು ನಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಮೂರು ಹಾಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತು ಅಂಕ. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂಬತ್ತು! ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾರ್ಧ ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಚುರುಕಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮನರಂಜನೆಯ ಅಂಶ ತುಂಬಬೇಕಿತ್ತು.
ನಾಯಕಿಯ ನಟನೆಗೆ ಪೈಪೋಟಿ ನೀಡುವ ನಾಯಕ ಇರಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಂತೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ನಡೆದಾಡುವ ತಾಜ್ಮಹಲ್. ನೋಡಲೇಬೇಕಾದ ತಾಜಾ ಮಾಲ್!

Its not a good review by Raju. A reviewer should not be telling about either half of the movie, he should portray the movie as a whole with his critics. This movie is very well done by Shashank. He is one of the most talented directors to look out for in KFI. Good performance can be seen here from Radhika and Ajay. Not many movies like these could be seen on today’s silverscreen. Please beware of Anamikas.

I think you like only Tamil and Telugu movies. If the same movie was made in telugu or Tamil then you would have liked it. It is a good movie. One of the best in this year. The perfomances are really good. If you really like to criticise, atleast do that with a name. The picturisation and story is good. Name the movies that has the same story element.
Another worst movie in the year 2010. Ajay Roa is unfit for the hero role. Director should have opted for Yash rather than this guy. Story is very predictable and we have seen these type of stories in many movies across so many languages. The whole movie is so boring.
After moggina manasu, there was lot of hope on Shashank but he dissapointed with the poor selection of story. His direction is ok but not up to the mark.
This movie is really really the best movie.. Please do watch it.. Also request the reviewer not to give such ratings for these kind of movies.. It deserves 4 and above..
