Krishnan Love Story Music Review

(3.5/5) 75% Refreshing, 25% Stimulating
Looks like a lot of things pertaining to ‘Krishnan Love Story’ follow the 75%-25% formula. The movie posters say ‘75% real- 25% fiction’; the music is 75% Indian, 25% western for most of the tracks (the composition is bound to change without warning- we aren’t complaining though). V Sridhar dared to be different, and for a change, the different has done a word of good to our ears.
Hrudayave Bayaside Ninnane [Sonu Nigam , Vidyashree]: Starts off powerfully; the chorus brings out anger and desperation of the lead character beautifully. Sonu Nigam takes the ownership of the song thereafter, with more than adequate support from Vidyashree. Jayant Kaikini ‘s lyrics have the same soothing effect they normally carry, providing a smooth and confident start to the album.
Mosa Madalendu Neenu [Kailash Kher, Chethan Sosca]: Folkish and sad. Kailash Kher does what he does best- tugging at heart strings and giving a voice to sorrows- as he has done many times in the past. Chetan tries to fill in the gaps, but lacks compatibility with Kailash Kher’s deep baritone, which reminds of Late C. Ashwath in patches.
Nee Adada Mathu (Female) [Anuradha Bhatt]: must be counted among the best examples of fusion attempted in recent Kannada music history. One can easily visualize either an Indian classical dance or a western styled one for the music, without it feeling out of place. Lyrics and singing blend in the music very well, creating this auditory TREAT.
Thumba Aaramagi [Harsha Sadananda, Anup Seelin, V Sridhar]: patchy lyrics try their best to kill this song off, but such is the vibrancy of the music that the listeners would not mind it. Lead guitar resembles the fast paced samba music at time, with careful doses of bass coming in. Singing is slightly better than the lyrics; feels like the singers are trying too hard to achieve the local slang feel, and are afraid that they’d fail. A good song- but could have been better.
Ondu Sanna Aase [Deepak Doddera]: Shashank comes out with another powerful lyrical effort- after ‘Mosa Madalendu Neenu’. Deepak puts his heart out, and the music- well, is hauntingly beautiful.
Mosa Madalendu Neenu [Bit] [Kailash Kher]: if you thought that the first version of ‘Mosa..’ couldn’t get sadder, listen to this. Kailash Kher slows the tone down, and V Sridhar manages to add that extra bit of feeling.
Nee Adada Mathu (Male) [Rajesh Krishnan]: Not much to differentiate from Anuradha Bhatt’s version; Rajesh Krishnan modulates and tempers his voice better, but that is hardly noticeable.
Galli Cricket [Desmond Louis, V Sridhar]: Like a aerated drink that has kept open for a long duration, the album ends with a whimper. Galli cricket belongs to the cacophonic variety that is played largely during festivals, and feels out of place in this excellent collection. Please stick to music direction, Mr. Sridhar. Lyrics and singing aren’t your strong suits.
V Sridhar has given us something different, something that might stay in our minds longer than other albums that have come out this year. The songs take time to grow on you, except the last one; ‘Refreshing’ is the word that comes to mind. Admirable music, singers used to the best of their abilities, adequate lyrics- this one is going into my long term collection.

Also dont know why directors chose non kannadiga singers while we have lots of talents available locally.. The same goes with heroines.
I dont like this stupid Ajay. Cant accept him as hero..
Songs are really good in this movie especially hrudayave bayaside this is one of my favorite song. Really i like this song.
hey !! really a variying style of music in this album.. first actually i did not like most of the songs exept mosamadalende from kailashkher but now,,,. im really liiking almost all off them… kudus to the team…
who says shashank does not know to indentify the TUNES before commenting anything i think we should wait for films to realase as he is a good film maker he would really have made justice to the songs so wait for the film 2 realese..
What melodious song!
Hrudayave bayaside very very nice.different music.good review
I don’t agree with Kris Nayak , that ablum is V Sridhar has given us something different.
I agree with vrushchika that only few songs are good.
Its the same old stuff of V Sridhar. he copies the tunes and bring in new avatar. I still remember Mussanje Maathu songs.
only few songs are nice. Most of them seem patho. Shashank is a very good director but needs some improvement in identifying good tunes and music, Moggina Manassu has some good music coz of Manomurthy and here lets see if the picturization can support the songs.
All the best!!
