Maleyali Jotheyali Music Review

(3.5/5) Audio Review by Raju Shanbhag
Just when you thought that a busy Harikrishna had lost his touch in a hurry to churn out one album after another, he strikes gold with Maleyali Jotheyali. The album features a couple of beautiful tracks, some ‘inspired’ tracks and some foot tapping numbers; a complete experience for your senses! Although we hoped that none of the songs were a copy, we know that Mr. V. Harikrishna is a busy professional, and he may not even have the time to listen to us!
Haalaad Haalaad Heartali: E Halad taleli creativityne illa kanri; eshte tale para para para anta kerkondru matte matte ade dialogue repeat agutte kanri. Ganesh makes a sheepish attempt to connect to the audience by repeating the dialogues from Mungaru Male. While that doesn’t sound very novel, the tune by Harikrishna is respectably youthful. Ganesh is not a bad singer, and Kaviraj isn’t a bad lyricist either. Although this song is not as chirpy as to lift your mood, you will hum it when you are in a good mood.
Ni Sanihake Bandare: Come closer, and listen carefully; and you will know that an overworked Harikrishna has lifted this tune from a popular song, Tu Meri Dost Hain from the Hindi film Yuvvraaj. Of course, that’s only in the initial part of the song and then, Harikrishna charts his own course, which is melodious. Jayant Kaikini’s pen and Sonu Nigam’s panache urge you lend your ears to this track. Do you mind obliging?
Shuruvagide: Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal come together to enliven your musical senses with a bubbly track, but a beat goes quietly missing here in spite of the energetic efforts from the people involved. The best complement you can pay for this song is it isn’t bad.
Maleyali Jotheyali: Like a light drizzle that soaks up your senses before you can know, this beautiful track from Harikrishna unravels its melody with an unhurried leisure. Vaani Harikrishna’s voice is mischievous and melodious at the same time. The repeat value of this song is such that you don’t mind listening to the same tune once again in Sonu Nigam’s silky voice.
Enu Helabeku: Although this song is tuneful, there are a couple of complaints that we have about this track. First, the CD cover shows utter disrespect to the female singer of the song as it does not mention her name on the cover. Of course sir, Sonu Nigam’s name is enough to lure the listeners; but show some respect to the female singers too! Our second complaint is that the track again looks ‘inspired’ from one more Hindi track!
Yaare Ninna Mummy: Harikrishna’s favorite pupil for peppy songs, Tippu, makes a noisy entry in this album with Priya Himesh, who gives a run for Tippu’s money in being bubbly and vivacious. Although this track seems to be a bit of a letdown, you may still like it when you see it.

Maleyali jotheyali is best album in kfi which has all type of songs….
ni sanihake bandare is my favourate ganesh is superb in his acting & sonu again rocks aftera long gap
Harikrishna is realy on top.I wonder who is the competitar for him.
recent kannada songs are melodious. but can kannadigas have ONE proper website where we can download all video songs and mp3 versions? i haev tried all the sites but there is no single site that offers u all songs and lets you download free. it either has latest songs or some old songs. i am tired of Googling.
Hi,
Please stop giving bad comments about Kannada Film Industry the reason is simple we are expert in projecting ourselves bad. But see others Telugu/Tamil and Hindi even though they will do the same thing they will not highlight that. All tamil songs are replica of Kannada songs.
sonu nigam rocking in karnatka nee sanihake bandare what a song awesome singing
Enu Helabeku:’s female singer is Shreya Ghoshal……………This info is not there on CD’s pack
ganesh u r the best..the songs of maleyali jotheyali simply rock…Nee sanihake bandare n Maleyali jotheyali title track r simply superb…
n no point in comparing every other album with MM n Galipata, that is done n history.. there hv been better songs wh hv come.. Milana also had very good songs n manasaare also.. like wise before & after Galipata there were many good songs given by HariKrishna in boopathi, gaja, payana, raj, abhay, navagraha the list goes on..
once again as per Raju’s review the album is very good..
kiiti plus kutti ….the tunes in maanasaare are far different compared to MM. Naa naguva modalene has one of the best orchestration in recent times. He has not copied his old songs here. Aaramaagi idde naanu is also one of the best tracks of this year. None of these songs are directly lifted from any songs. Copying tunes is not talent !! Even MM has lifted tune, but has lot more originality and melody.
in the time when we were not listening to kannada songs n radio fm was only playing hindi songs, these music directors hv made us to listen kannada songs.. whether it is Arjun or Mano moorthy or Raghu dixit or Harikrishna.. the talent in them makes them to stand for longer duration.. even A R Rahman was considered as copy cat from english albums..
music is an inspiration from some source, ppl who hv listened to some wat similar previously wil try to compare to wat they hv heard.. ppl who hv learnt classical or hindustani music wud always compare to one or other raagas they know.. so there is no point in finding ways to criticize for his work.. for tat matter i heard tat Harikrisha’s one song is fully copied in a telugu movie, how many of u guys know this..
songs r really good to listen no doubt abt it..
full copy and paste songs..no originality..sad!
Yes Kitti.. Mano aka Mono murthy repeats tunes like Mungaru(mansoon) rains repeat themselves every year
well shivu, he copies himself.. thats worse than copying others. when u copy others, u can conclude that music director has at least attempted to give something different to the listener by indirectly reducing himself to a DJ
Manomurthy is no monomurthy dude, Listen to his recent songs they are distinctly different and he atleast attempts not to copy
Shame on Harikrishna..agree that he is shameless. Just imagine if a tamilian sitting next to you listens to one of these songs and says ..the original is from Tamil….Any Manomurthy is 1000 times better and has been the best so far this year.
just stop these comments….the songs r quite good…..stop complaining guys
Harikrishna have copied music and songs from different source and mixed and made new ablum, Shame on him. Bring some original thoughths.
Only good album till date was Gaalipata.
ARJUN is good music director.
Manomurthy is monomutrhy, no change in his music( the same old in instruments)
Raghu Dixit the next person in KFI how can give good music.
music copy madidare hmmmm
Jayanth Kaikini hasn’t copied the lyrics right , His penning of the lyrics is the best ,
one of the best album after Manasare
Maleyali Jotheyali is going to release on 11th Dec 2009.. I just can’t wait to see the mansoon rains, rabbit, and Ganesh minus YB under the supreme direction of Preetham Gubbi, the man who directed Haage Summane
lol…. i accept songs are inspired by other languages…. think so it will not be a hit……
i guess GANESH…. should stop actin… after this movie….. and should go back to his comedy show…..
same old songs nothing new….Even the movie would be very boring i guess…songs have been inspired by other languages…
No justification in the rating., This music director shamelessly copies tunes from different sources esp. Tamil. How can you credit him for these songs?
Nice review.. nice album..
Hahaha…I completely second your opinion Raju. Even I felt Nee sanihake bandare’s initial part was ‘inspired’ from the song from Yuvraaj. But to be honest that’s the only part that’s copied. The song is superb.
Enu Helabeku: – There is a trace of a song(Solo number of Shreya – dil kho gaya kisi ka or something like that) from Singh is Kingh…Also some elements are inspired from Kal Ho Na Ho’s album…
Nevertheless the album is superb.
Nee Sanihake Bandaree?…..sorry i have no words so say what will happen….mind blowing song…
