Mammootty to Act in Kannada

It seems that the Kannada film industry is becoming a prime hotspot for migrants. After Shivaji Prabhu, now it’s Mammootty who is coming to Kannada. Mammootty will be making his Kannada debut in Shikari, a film directed by Abhay Simha, who earlier directed a children’s film called Gubbachchigalu.

Since the time S. V Rajendra Singh Babu tried bringing Mohan Lal to Kannada, many other producers such as Ramu have been trying to get his Malayalam counterpart, Mammootty, to Kannada. Mammootty rejected all those offers as he wasn’t too pleased with the script. But he liked Shikari, which has a story that tracks pre-independence and post- independence eras. N. R Shetty, who earlier produced Shubham is the producer of this film.

Talks are going on with Konkana Sen Sharma, who has acted in films such as Page 3, Traffic Signal and recently, Luck By Chance. The actress was reportedly interested in the project because Mammootty was in it.
