Movie Review By Raju Shanbhag

nanda Shivrajkumar is standing in the middle of a road with red painted machcu in his hand (shh! It’s blood. Chilling?) There are some three dozen bad men standing on other side of the road with equally long machcus in their hand. An almighty war cry erupts from both the sides and the bad men run to Shivarajkumar. One by one, for 5 long minutes, he slices their hands, heads and whatever is available giving those once chilling looks from behind those hairs that are covering his face, and he slowly walks off.

Funnily, this might be the scene from any of the previous few movies of Shivarajkumar or any of his forthcoming movies. But it’s a scene from Nanda, where the machcu in his hand is focused more than anything else. The same was the case with Madesha where goons lined up to get hit by him. But compared to Nanda, even a disaster like Madesha looks like an underworld masterpiece; and this is not a eulogy to Madesha.

I do not want to talk about the story or screenplay because I will be repeating myself for the umpteen times. Nothing makes this movie worth looking at, not even Shivarajkumar who seems to be sleepwalking through these roles these days. He does well in them, but how long will you keep seeing the same expression with substandard stories and direction? Everything, from direction, script, acting camera and music seems to have been done without a care in the world. It’s high time Shivarajkumar understands simply holding Machcu will not deliver a Jogi or Om every time.

Do not waste your time and money on this movie.
