ojl-kitty-radhikapanditMeasured Melody!

Mano Maurthy is back and not exactly with a bang. His new album with his favorite director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar passes the exam after struggling hard in various departments. For one, Mano Murthy seems to struggle when it comes to fusing pure melody with western beats; and the worst part is, he never gives up trying! Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar has written the lyrics, wielded the megaphone, written the story and screenplay and probably done a small role in the film too. The result, at least going by his lyrics, does not look very promising.

Overall, an average album that has a couple of neat songs but lacks that signature music of Mano Murthy.

Nanna Preethiya Geleya: Is that Shreya Ghoshal? Really? You Promise? With surprises popping out of every album, you can never be sure about the name of the singers anymore, especially when the CD cover has Shreya Ghoshal’s name on it. Mano Murthy opens the album with a melodious track which loses some of its appeal thanks to needless beats in the background. Lyrics by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar lack fresh thoughts or concepts.

Baalu Moore Dina: The rogue beats from the previous song finally fall into line in this song. Ananya Bhat’s puerile voice chalks out the basic philosophies of life in three minutes sharp. Mano Murthy’s tune gives you an uneasy feeling of déjà vu but you may finally end up liking it if you put your heart into the task.

Nodi Swamy: If you are not among those who get offended easily, you might have a good initial impression about this song despite Rajesh Mehar’s scornful voice. The song shrugs off whatever traces of melody it had as it grows old and even Chaitra HG’s sensuous voice cannot save the day. Certainly not a comparison to that legendary song of Shankar Nag (Nodi Swamy Navirode Hige).

Ba Baare Shaakuntale: I don’t wanna be the first one to blow the whistle; but boy, does this song belong to Sonu Nigam? The song has unmistakable traces of tunefulness stamped all over it, but the seal bears the name of Vijay Prakash. Vijay Prakash’s singing is not bad, and sometimes, that’s the best form of diplomacy you can extend to your fellow human beings.

Kereya Neeranu Kerege: Unfortunately, you cannot call this the best song of the album as the song was written centuries ago by Shri Purandara Dasaru. With due credits given, Mano Murthy adopts the song to the MP3 age quite nicely and Shantala Vattam’s typical classical voice does the rest.

Most Pathetic album in recent years.
Mano Murthy showed traces of a lacklustreness in his songs of Haage Summane.
Here Hes proved that his repertoire has got exhausted. Sad that repertoire has ogne empty so early. As always Mmurthys orchestration lacks punch being very monotonous and annoying especially of the rythm and persussion instruments.
One good song would have justified the CD purchace but alas! waste of money!
Better not to be too optimistic about MM s songs hereon….

i think songs are very ordinary and surely disappoints as we expect a lot from melody murthy.vijay prakash is not a pathetic singer.the tunes are so ordinary that it offers nothing new.

Forget Manoo Murthy. Enjoy Radhika Pandit. She’s looking awesome.
Moreover Nagathihalli is good in presenting heroines. I’ll watch this movie at least for Radhika Pandit.. Who knows, I might even like the songs after I see Radhika performing and Mano Murthy’s songs grow gradually too.

Although Mano is good at tunes and melodies, his back ground music and hip hop tunes lack that goodness. Even after a long break its disappointing to have disappointing songs.
