Producers Association gets a Roof

December 15th, 2009 at 1:20 am

KPA-BuildingInauguration Some things in KFI are hard to believe. The producers’ association in KFI, which started in 1982, didn’t have a building of its own, until recently. So recently, the association got together and got itself a building in Rajajinagar. The building is S. V Towers, which belongs to S. V Babu and it has been leased out to the association by this producer who produced movies like Sangama and Josh.

Among the usual inspirational talks to develop the industry, Jayaramaraje Aras, Secretary, Kannada and Culture and Information Department, made some promises that could signal the arrival of new dimensions for the Kannada industry. One of such promises was the help from government to create ‘mini films’ by the public. Also, he announced that the number of films receiving the subsidy has been increased from 30 to 50; a little step, but the help appreciated.

On this occasion, Mr. Jayaramaraje Aras also promised that two separate studios will be built for films in Kantheerava studios. Others present on the occasion included actor and the president of artists’ association, Ambarish, producer K.C.N Chandrashekhar, President of film chamber Jayamala, director T. S. Nagabharana, and Parvatamma Rajakumar.
