Raam Movie Review

Raam is READY to help those in need; Raam is READY to kick butts if need be, and Raam is READY to risk his life for a heroine who acts snooty with him for quirky reason. In this READYmade script that has manifested on this earth with a single aim of entertaining the audience, Puneeth readily emerges as a mass entertainer who can try his hands at bit of everything and emerge as a winner in all.
Raam is the story of a good natured dude who is willing to help the unwilling brides run away from their homes. In the beginning, he does it at his home and helps Sonu (in a guest role) flee away and get married to the boy of her dreams. But this infuriates a whole army of character artists who are always seen in group shots and are generally well dressed as if they are posing for a photo shoot. So Raam goes back to Bellary, rides some bikes, kicks some butts while some hot babes gape at him in awestruck wonder.
Enter Priyamani for the first time in Kannada (as the title card proudly declares) and bang! Raam has found his Seetha. Not so incidentally, Raam picks her up mistaking her for another bride and then ends up with her for the rest of the film. To stop a long story from becoming even longer, the rest of the film comprises of how Raam re-unites two warring families in-between singing some well shot songs abroad and wins his heroine over.
Needless to say, Raam is a Puneeth show all the way. In this film, Puneeth gets to do everything a hero is supposed to do and he is first rate in all the departments. If only this was a Swamake and if only the film was shorter, it would have been even more entertaining. Puneeth makes most of the opportunity to showcase his talent and successfully carries the weight of the film on his shoulders.
K.Maadesh’s direction drags the story a bit in the first half and picks up pace in the second half with the help of some interesting twists and well written dialogues. While the first half could have been trimmed a bit, the second half is pure fun with Rangayana Raghu, Puneeth and Sadhu Kokila keeping the audience entertained.
Priyamani’s well hyped Kannada debut is good, but nothing spectacular. There is a definite oomph about this gal and she carries it on well. Other supporting cast does well in their respective roles.
Overall, Raam is a decent watch, especially in the second half.

Dear KFI….aduu hanngalla….when we enrich our knowledge with new novels and our literature we defenately look life and our society in fresh angles…we dont read our literature ..and dont know new ideas and creativity of of our writers …and even our directors will prefer to feed fodder us and unfortubnately we enjoy eating it each time…when we change our taste…defenatly darshan leaves his lloongss..do some roles like which suits his talent as he is good looking and having good hi\eight ….,shivanna will do good art films to showcase hisreall talent …to use his experience of more than a decade….and puneet will do some challengeing role …to gain experience……ganesh wil do some serious role …which he can do as he is haeving good mannerisum…and ravichndran will produce decent films…with some message … that we really need …film is art …it is not a stage where u show case u r foolishness and we in auidence seat have full right to critizize our artists as they r from ourland and we want them to grow …not to become stagnant water.because we see our self in themmm they r reflection of our taste…..same thing holds good for heroins as well Radhika pandit,iinritha rai,please rerain u r beauty and enrich u r talent ….

Your analysis is totaly wrong about Shivanna and Puneeth movies.Before posting such biased and negative article,you must have known the concepts of movies.
Hmm..darshan for all rowdi films+showoffing ….shivarajkumar for all brother roles+sentiments…punith for all good guy of decent family films+dance …ganesh for love stories….ravichandran for all exposure films+vulgarity …all are brands in a sealed pockets …and we have becoem so taste less that we watch them ..if it is swamake or remake no matter as we dont have taste buds…
in between fresh air of chetan,diganth…and yograj,chaithnay is passing by ….let c if we can taste the real art ..if not for sure we are going to lose them for tamil of telugu for sure…
Remake is only regretable matter,running towards 75 days in all centres.
Good paisa vasool movie,Sadly remake.
First half typical andra masala,second half comedy kamaal.
Good entertainer moving towards 50 days in all first release theatres.

ok……… better than “RAJ-THE SHOW MAN”…….. it’s a good family entertainer……… music is good but music director should try to give all songs good but he given only two good songs remaining all r not so good……….. asusual puneeth’s acting is superb……….. priya has also done well……… dance choreography is cool……. rating may give *** 3 stars………
Its high time that Puneeth’s should stop donning such roles. How long can an actor do the same stuff…people have started feeling monotonous about Puneeth’s roles. He should be trying something new. Doing the same kinda roles would have been good in the yester years but at this change demanding days actors should try different makeovers otherwise they will not last longer for sure. This movie is more like Gaja and the Director has repeated same stuffs in this one. Question time for the director’s creativity??!!

Even if Porki or Pokri, or whatever it may be, is released it will not be any different than all the trashes out there. What do *you* know about Kannada film industry? You said you are totally into hollywood and other foreign lang movies and don’t watch Kannada movies….. Stop crying in support of these crap movies coming out due to fanaticism, instead support genuinely good movies…

Nobody’s crying here… I am almost laughing at pathetic quality of our movies that are coming out recently… They are so lame and cheesy (imagine watching movies like “Jamana”, “Happy New Year”, “10th Class A Sec”, “Porki”, “Punda”, “Chickpete Sachagalu” etc etc.). They are as lame as most of the Bollywood movies….
By the way, Hollywood is also a joke nowadays, but nowhere as bad as our movies like “Porki”, “Punda”, “Chanda”, “Dheena – The Prince Approved” etc etc… Try some French, Hungarian and Italian movies….
and I am totally influenced by hollywood and other foreign lang movies. I don’t watch kannada movies often. But i am eagerly waiting to see a changeover in kannada film industry.
Good things from any source are always be welcomed.Our directars must watch hollywood or anyother foreign language movies and get inspired.Yaakandre telugu market has gone deep inside Karnataka in lenght and breadth,so its better to avoid telugu remakes to maximum extents.Anyway i am very happy that this movie is doing extremely good and got good start to new year.
Fake KFI—This is not acceptable at this stage with so much prejudices.Last year industry had bad phase,now its slowly recovering with series of good movies in pipeline.Guys be pragmatic and costructive especialy KFI or cry babe.

Nowadays even 1st day will not get filled. This movie in promod theatre is getting filled for all shows by 11.30am after 1st week also. Is that not a good news for kannada film industry.
OK. Because it is a remake it does not make it bad. A family entertainer like this where whole family can sit and watch has not been made in most of the movies . Hence remake is also good for viewers in some cases. If we had more good songs, this would have been 4/5. One thing I understand sometime directors do not sit and do editing to trim or cutdown the length of the movie. Every director should sit with an Editor to make sure it is acceptable to majority of the audience. Go and watch the movie , Just enjoy forget about other things.. who cares whatmake?

GS, HOW MANY YEARS BACK MOVIE?
Really a good entertainer. A full fun filled maaza. A very good movie after a very long time in kannada .The only minus is that it is a remake. First half is a normal movie. The pace of the movie increases in the second half. This type of fun I had enjoyed a long time ago in GURU SHISHARU. I rarely see movies. The last movie was APATA MITRA. I have wached this movie already twice paying a black of Rs. 150/- in promod theatre. Enjoy this new year with your whole family with this movie.

There was no theatre problems for this movie ,it was all cooked up matters.Remakes are remakes,if there are excessive then they deserve all sorts of criticisms.Sagar theatre has maintained prestige ,but its not fair to tell that they somehow makes movie good runs for that purpose.

This movie’s song is very horrible I agree,but the excuse of theater problem is not fair releasing in 87 theaters is not a small number,theater owners remove the movie whether it is of any actor’s collection is important to them why do you expect them to only tolerate Puneeth movies is he some king?,this sort of hypocrisy needs to stop.
According to prajavani its ok when the kings do remake movies or if the movie flops they put the blame on the directors and producers,but if it was some other actor they show their bias lamenting the concerned actor to low degrees.
Puneeth fans need not worry this movie will make 50 days in Sagar theater since that owner compulsarily runs any movie whether there are people or not.
In Hi Bangalore, there is a report that Raam had run into theatre problems bcos of Raj-The Showman disaster effect!! More than Raj the shown effect, its because of Raam’s poor marketing and its poor music. It could have been advertised in a better way.

I hope you understand Kannada. I already told in some other article comment boards that I am not a fanboy of Ganesh. What makes you think that only Ganesh fans should criticize Puneeth’s movies? And, why one should not criticize Puneeth’s movies? Is there any rule that one should always like/love their movies? I have already told that Ganesh is in stupid hangover of MM and his same old deadpan dialogues make one feel like vomiting…. You better read other articles, and comments if you need, in Bellitere instead of sticking only to Shivaraj and Puneeth movie news articles.
By the way, in Raam music could have been better. Generally, Puneeth’s films have good foot tapping music…..

Time to go back to school
I did not say that the movie is not well made (in terms of production quality, cinematography, acting by lead characters)… I said there is nothing special in the movie…. There is no point in making same story/concept again and again and again… Even for a remake, the content is not new….If you mix some recent movies like Ajay, Arasu, Gaja etc, you “may” get a movie similar to Raam…. Let’s see if this movie runs for 175 days (not in theaters owned by movie makers), or will it run away from theaters after 17 days…

One thing is confirmed that u didn’t see the movie yet. Movie is superb, it will run more than 175 days very easily. Do u know the qualification of madesh(ram movie dir)? . Better u know about him before commenting and please go through every review in print media, internet etc., then u will get an idea about this movie to watch. Its really superb.
Raju has given good review with low rating, I think its because this movie is a remake. This is wonderful treat to the kannada audience. Second half is very well made. Everyone must watch this movie. I am so happy after seeing this movie. This is the best movie of 2009 in kannada, but its a remake.
