Raj – The ‘Sue’man

August 24th, 2009 at 9:55 pm

RajTheShowmanOur sandalwood’s much‘ch’ self-hyped director Prem never seems to be out of news even after the release of his too much‘chch’ hyped movie Raj. The buzz now is that he threatened to sue Dr. Kiran Totambittu, who had acquired the rights of the Raj to release overseas but failed to do so. This all happened at the press conference held on Monday. Prem put all the blame on the doc, who was present at the press conference on Prem’s invitation, for not releasing Raj overseas, before the full attendance of the media.

Later on, the hapless doctor told media that people are not keen on watching Raj overseas as the reason for his failure to operate Raj on foreign soil. He also mentioned that there was no written agreement between the producer and him to release the movie overseas indicating that suing is far fetched thinking of Prem.

Meanwhile the viewers seem to be upset about the movie because of its lack of content. Even though people seem to be talking about its making, music and performances, they are also venting their anger about its bad story and screenplay in the same voice. It appears Prem hasn’t learned lesson from his previous movie Preeti eke…… where he did the same thing and had failed miserably. He once again repeated the same mistake and now it seems he is getting what sow.

As the old saying goes when you overheat the cuisine you will always get spoiled food and it seems to be true in case of Raj the showman.

    I am niether fan of Prem or Puneet, nor I am critics who is trying all out to defame Prem, I think they don’t have guts to try the same with Puneet. Just as an ordinory man without any bias I watched the movie, here is my feedback;

It is a great entertainer. I enjoyed the movie from begining to the end. At no point of time i was bored, songs, fights are certainly at their best. Puneet has put in his best performance in this movie. All that critcis are saying is false; he may be because of their high expectation not met by Prem. This movie is a real trens setter in Kannada film industry.
Good Job Prem and Puneet, keep giving nice movies like this.

After watching this movie I felt KFI is safe; no Hindi, Telugu or Temil films can be any threat to it. We have plenty of talent, just need open mind to enjoy what is given.

I’m sure if the same movie was made in Temil, Telugu or Hindi, there would have been accolades and praises at even national level for its greatness.

look i watch kannada films in US and they come very rarely. they come many months after the film releases in India. if people read bad reviews they don’t come. but there are many people who come. anyhow prem and his producers gave overseas rights to this man and he didn’t do what he set out to do. there is a system of people that are already distributing emails, renting theaters, and getting people in different locations.. so many people want to show the film overseas and they do it haphazardly without regard to reaching the people to come and see it. with all the hype people would definately come to see Raj. no one knows who this dr. Kiran is let them duke it out. Its sad more Kannada films don’t reach overseas audience.

Prem has done excellant job in this movie and he has tried his level best to extract acting.Guys mind it its all the career path of hero so far that is causing negativity in minds rather mistakes of directar.Songs picturisations equals other language in location, camerawork, etc.Puneeth is too late in acting train catching.

fi;m is not all good its a album with songs, let prem learn how to make screenplay and story foolish do not play with kannada audience make good films do not play with stars learn to make good scripts do not be over confident…………………………….

  21. suresh on August 25th, 2009 10:17 am

    Mr Mahesh

He may be good in marketing but if you carefuly watch Jogi you will find lot of goofs. Upendra and prem are banking lot on story writers and thier policy of use and throw have made them empty heads.

  22. Mahesh on August 25th, 2009 10:03 am

Prem was the second guy amongst the directors who brought “star value” to the directors in a hero dominated KFI. Upendra was the first guy though later he got carried away by his fascination of being hero. After Prem, Yograj Bhat and Suri continued the trend. I hope YB and Suri dont try to be actors… we really lack good directors and KFI badly needs them in their director roles.

  23. suresh on August 25th, 2009 9:55 am

    Mr Mahesh
Prem is talented but he didnt gained any fame in JOGI.

  24. Mahesh on August 25th, 2009 9:52 am

Prem is really a talented director… But he let himself carried away by fame that Jogi gave him.. Handling fame is a tough job.. he should expand his thinking horizon(stories) and stop imitating Upendra’s career and focus on only direction.

  25. Mr Sue Man..gone man on August 25th, 2009 6:38 am

    I saw a showman
He was dressed like a clownman(pirate)
    He sipped from a tincan
    And munched on some pecans
To look like a she man
The movie is a flop man
    Not released overseas man
As there is no viewership man
And Puneet will be a gone man
Now Jack sparrow is a upsetman
Cuz they robbed his costume man

  26. Captain Jack Sparrow on August 25th, 2009 6:22 am

“thou shall be cursed for a lifetime to steal a pirate look of mine without a homage onto me”
dare u steal from the Pirates of the Caribbean ever, even in dreams..!

Those were the words of Captain Jack Sparrow after looking at the poster of this kfi movie.

He went on and said that he was unique and wanted to preserve it by himself,, but some people are trying to use his fame to make their fame! causing a damage in the first place.

However, Jack Sparrow didn’t seem to be on a Columbus Route to India.
He said “Why to sail oceans away to fight a powerless star, pun-it …. just leave it !

    Mark this mariner’s words —
“A curse-hit movie won’t sail long unless the strong currents of money and politics sails it.. “

Got something to say?
