Rajani Movie Review

(2/5) Movie Review By N.Jagadish
The bones crackle, cars fly, glasses break, songs pop up from nowhere and the heroine drapes herself in swimsuit at the slightest or no provocation. And while watching those borrowed scenes coming out of the big screen, you start admiring the sheer audacity of the producer for investing so much money on such an outdated predictable script!
The movie Rajani, since it is a Telugu script it never gives any heed to the terms called story and screenplay as most of Tollywood movies do. As usual, the hero falls in love with the heroine who obviously has a flashback (you hardly miss a flashback in Telugu script, won’t you?) of a bad man who is hell bent on marrying her. He elopes with heroine, bravely fights the chelas of big bad man, smashes some cars and in the end, for a change, bombards Lorries. Hmmm…. so much for love!
The movie does have some entertaining moments especially whenever Rangayana Raghu makes an entry on the screen. Other characters played by veterans like Doddanna, Sharat Lohitashwa, Ramakrishna, Sadhu kokila and Bullet Prakash pass their muster. Mukul Dev who makes his first entry in sandalwood performs his role with ease. Aarti Chabria has no other option but remain as stripping barbie doll.
Oh, yeah! Uppi is there in the movie too. Though he fights, sings, dances and delivers dialogues with ease, his character doesn’t create any impact, neither on your mind nor on your heart. You watch him because he is the main protagonist of the movie. You will forget the character as soon as you come out of the theatre.
The songs of the movie are a big disappointment. You would never get such an outdated music from veteran like Hamslekha and what’s worse is that even the lyrics are mediocre along with crass choreography, unwanted cutting and irrelevant choreography work. If you could hum even one song you would go into record books.
The last time Thriller Manju directed a movie he parceled the hero in Karnataka police uniform to abroad to fight the criminal. This time he restrains himself from committing such thing. He has made his work easy by selecting performers of highest degree and has burned his brains in choreographing stunts and for that he gets few sities from front benchers.
Go for it if you feel that you have no other entertainment to amuse you in your vicinity.

Hats off to guts and attitudes of the author. This clearly shows that they are inclined and biased lot towards sick and garbage movies.Infact most of the reviews in print and electronic medias are alomst same. Thanks Ramu for his lavishness.
hodeya pishachi andre bandheya gawakshilee andangaaytidu! All bellitere authors have more or less same attitude.
A site with a good name but with a sick attitude/authors.
Raju Shanbhag’s innings in ridiculed review writing on kannada movies, with a new brand name N.Jagadish, continues…..
Nice review, Directors should stop filling crap in the movie, calling it family entertainers, for those people who disagree with the reviewer, they can always argue about it, but abusing the reviewer is not acceptable
