Seena Music Review

(2/5) Audio Review by Suchitra Preetham
Average Score
Seena, is an average sounding album with nothing much to boast about. Both Kaikini and Kaviraj have penned the better songs of the album. As for the music; Raveesh does very little to give it the much needed boost. That leaves Seena to the fate of joining the Sandalwood’s bandwagon of mediocre tracks.
Chanchala Notada (Kunal Ganjawala): The tunes twirl in a soft swirly fashion that lets your mind’s eye linger on, imagining the ‘chanchala nota’ that Kunal Ganjawala croones out to. The Kaikini lines are a definite benefit to this track. For this one Raveesh should get a pat on his back.
Kannalle Kaadodu (Harshini): Opening with a fluty melody, Kannalle Kaadodu holds some promise. However as Harshini rasps on, the promise seems soulfully lost to monotony. A lackluster track, the Basavaraj Bellary lines do not add any magic to Raveesh’s tedious tunes. No pats on the back for this one.
Jeeva Midiyutide (Hariharan, Chitra KS): Jeeva Midiyutide is stylized as a classical Hindustani track. You could only wish that swaras had more bhava; more innovation and less of din.
Yaaridu (Madhubalakrishna): Yaaridu-o-yaaridu, manasu iddaru- kanase illa, manasinasay evarigela. The forlorn tunes carry on in a sort of never-ending fashion. Alright, there is a lot of philosophy that Basavaraj Bellary put into the notes. But then again, Raveesh stuck to his archetype- tedium and monotony.
Minchu Balli (Chaitra HG): Chaitra’s intonations on ‘sarai-gintha nanne kicku’ ; and some heady Kaviraj lines that tick in combination with Raveesh’s music tricks again calls for a pat on the back for this naughty but catchy number.
Gudu Gudu (Anuradha Bhatt, AT Raveesh): Gudu Gudu commences with ‘Wow! What a handsome guy ! and then the strings eddies in with drums. The mike juggles between a screechy Anuradha Bhatt and a droning Raveesh. Looks like the pat on the back, becomes a whack on the ears.
