Shashank speaks about Krishnan Love Story
Shashank, the director who won many young hearts (and lots of awards) with his fresh approach to direction, is at it again with “Krishnan Love Story” to be released in April. It has been quite a while since the director came out of his closet and shared his views. After a successful movie, you would expect him to lap up offers, but Shashank is determined that he would direct only original films (Bravo!). His last film impressed the audience and judging panel alike; he says he isn’t willing to disappoint them with below par stories, or remakes.
When asked about the long gap between Moggina Manasu and KLS, he explains the hardships of coming up with an original story. “You need a good script, and a lot of passion to create swamake films. It takes lot of effort and time to come up with original stories and plot”, he maintains. “One needs to concentrate completely on the film. When you think of it, just writing a good script will take at least six months. And it takes at least a year to provide the viewers with a good movie.” He doesn’t seem to mind the gap.
The title may suggest otherwise, but the story is very different from Moggina manasu, according to the director. “The story is rather intense; and gives a good message to the audience. Most of the storyline is taken from a true incident that happened in a friend’s life. Rest is screenplay- adapted accordingly”, he confers.
According to him, the cast was selected based on the suitability of their roles, rather than adding glamour quotient to the movie, and they seem to reflect the mood of the story quite well. “We selected Radhika Pandit because she blends in the normal situations of the movie. She has that girl next door look which the movie demands.”
The film is shot at various locations in Karnataka, especially in Dakshina Kannada. The locations have come out beautifully, maintains the director. And he is confident the audience will be surprised in the way Bangalore is portrayed in the film; “People would never have seen Bangalore the way we have shown it”, were his exact words.
Speaking about Filmfare awards, “An award is like a bonus. It made me happy. The movie was accepted by the public first, and then it was lapped up by media and award committees.” He said.
The movie is scheduled to be released on 16th of April. The director seems satisfied with his efforts, confident that he has come up with a good film which audience is going to love. Maintaining suspense over the climax of the film, he says “I have made this film so that people can like it. And I am sure they will- 100%.”
Hope the movie does justice to the enthusiasm shown by the director; and wishing Krishnan Love Story a happy ending.

Shashank proved it again,KLS going grt guns everwhere. His confidence was mistaken as arrogance before the movie release, but now he justified his credentials and joined the league of Bhat,Soori, chandru, prem, etc.
Shashank is no doubt one of the good directors in the KFI. Sixer was a decent hit in its time when the KFI was going low otherwise Prajwal would have disappeared thereafter. Moggina Manassu was not a hit because E krishnappa produced it or because there were four girls, its because of the good subject and making by Shashank. Anyways we cant guarantee that all movies made by a budding director will be good to watch. Lets wait and watch this time to see what he is all about!!
I hope KLS will not go PREM KAHANI way,as this fellow with one UTTER FLOAP SIXER and a mild success like MOGGINA MANASU is behaving like CHANDRU.i HOPE HE DOES’T DISAPPOINT US.
Puneeth must act under Shasank without fights and dances.
Shashank’s debut film ‘Moggina Manasu’ had created a craze among the people because of the Mungaru Male Producers 2nd film. The film was not passed by the Censor Board easily.
Other than this, 4 girls were there in that movie to cool the audience eyes.
Hope Shashank will not disappoint the fans like the other well known Directors of KFI.
Atleast we can really hope for a good movie one to come up this year. All the best Shashank!
ALL THE BEST SHASHANK…….ALL THE BEST TO RADIKA AND AJAY…..my cordial wishes for u r efforts
His last move Moggina Manasu was awesome..Waiting for KLS..
Good that Shashank decided to make “swamakes” and did homework to write story/screenplay. I hope his efforts pays him off well. Let’s see how the movie turns out.
