Shivarajkumar to go offbeat!

After the failure of hardcore commercial movies such as Maadesha and Bandhu Balaga, Shivrajkumar seems to be looking at art films to alter the poor run of his films at the box office. It seems Kavita Lankesh is all set to direct a new film for this talented actor. If everything works fine, the film might be released in April 2009. The name and the other cast of the film are not finalized yet and even Shivarajkumar’s call sheet hasn’t been obtained yet.

Even earlier, Shivarajkumar has worked with art house directors such as Baraguru Ramachadrappa in Hagalu Vesha. This time, he teams up with a director who is trying to blend the so called realistic films and the commercial cinema. Kavita Lankesh is well known for her films such as Deviri and it will be interesting to see if she can focus on unused talents of Shivarajkumar which has been lost amidst over the top rowdism fare.

We hope Shivrajkumar finally gets a film that does justice to his talent.
