Shreya Ghoshal! Really??
Success has many fathers. In an unethical place like KFI, it even has multiple mothers. Recently, there was a very disturbing report on a TV channel that highlighted the depraved practices followed in KFI against our own artists. According to that report, the song, Marali Mareyagi from Savaari, was originally sung by Anuradha Bhat, while the title card jovially shows the names of Shreya Ghoshal and Sadhana Sargam (the song is played twice in the album). The film unit and the music company Anand Audio are busy blaming each other for this raw injustice meted out to a Kannada talent.
But as deplorable as this practice may seem, KFI will take heart from the fact that it’s nothing new for the industry. There was a similar controversy about Madesha’s Munjaane Manjaagu song which was allegedly sung by Shreya Ghoshal while it was our own Supriya Ramakrishnaiah who lent her voice for the song.
Such acts are repeated by the same producers and music companies who insist on cramming unnecessary songs eulogizing Kannada and its greatness in their albums. The same producers and music companies do not think twice before committing these types of injustice against Kannada talents.
Shame on the people who engage in such acts.
