Sugreeva Movie Stills

December 15th, 2009 at 2:37 pm

Ten directors, one Malayali captain, shooting complete in 18 hours… yes we’re talking about Shivarajkumar starrer Sugreeva. Though it’s a unique achievement, shooting in 18 hours calls for a lot of compromises in acting, shot selection, location selection…etc. But luckily, a considerable amount of time (about 4-5 months) and discussion was spent on the script itself. Since it’s alleged to be a thriller, we hope that the film will boast of the same pace as that of shooting. Along with Shivrajkumar, Sugriva stars Yagna Shetty and Anitha. It’s Anitha’s comeback movie after Psycho and she’s playing a negative role here. The film is produced by Anaji Nagraj and is expected to hit the theatres in January 2010.

    Social issue movie-Defiant voice against the prevailing hospital system in India .There are so many in India who cannot afford for treatments in nice and sopisticated hospitals.It remains to be seen how well the script,background music and sensitiveness of subject being portrayed on screen.

  26. Sandalwood on January 17th, 2010 12:09 pm

    Indoor shooting with time bound is always been big challenge.SatyaHegde ,ShekarChandru and others are good in outdoors…thier work here are eagerly awaited.But still i believe that there cannot be much compromises in shot selections,since these guys uses lot ofsteady cameras,JimmyJib cranes apart from regular cameras and cranes.

  27. Ramesh on January 16th, 2010 8:16 pm

    “Alien on January 5th, 2010 11:22 am

    No songs i think,audio not released.

  35. Suresh on December 23rd, 2009 9:29 am

    Guys stick to the topic the matters are going irrelevantly.

  36. Arvind Hariharan on December 23rd, 2009 2:55 am

    @ Ravikiran kamble,

    IPC-SECTION 300 is a remake of Hollywood film “Fracture” and if they had stayed faithful to the original script without including the unwanted songs and comedy scenes the movie would have done well.

    MALE BARALI MANJU IRALI is a remake of bollywood film “Yeh Dillagi”

    Just letting you know that these are remakes.

  37. Legend on December 22nd, 2009 5:25 pm

    Oh my god,telling the facts and unique distinction are paid fanship—-great joke.

  38. Tamassu on December 22nd, 2009 10:59 am

    The movie for all general public is the first hand informations available with all of us.I think few assumed that all true Kannada audiences knew about rare distinction,so after reading about thier reactions might have got irked is my opinions.Anyway the article clearly says about script works ,etc.In other neigbouring states the popular hardly gets himself to paralel movies and its not fair to talk about them and thier supporters there.The situtation here is entirely different especialy now.The entertainments has various modes,its purely subjective matters .Rao and Kamble has valid points.

  39. KFI on December 21st, 2009 10:33 pm

    “Mata” and “Eddelu Manjunatha” are the only movies which were innovative and are already cult favorites… You can use these films for “studying” about finer points of movie making, like “Upendra” movie…. All other amateur lame directors should learn film making before declaring themselves as directors…..
    And, if people in Tamil Nadu and Andra blindly praise crap movies, then it does not show their love for native language movies.. It shows lameness and “kurudu abhimana”… Producers, directors and heroes should not expect general audience (expect for paid fanboys) to love their crap movies… If majority of the people of Karnataka show no hindrance in dumping crap movies, then we should be proud of it… Because, we are not “entertaining” or “promoting” crap movies and stars blindly..

    And, by the way, I believe “Director’s Special”, “Super”, “Aptha Rakshaka” are the movies to watch out for… and also “Sugreeva” if it is well made….

  40. Sati on December 21st, 2009 8:53 pm

    @Ravikiran kamble,
    Dude, just an attempt is not enough, the output should be good too.. Its funny that you’re demanding obligation from viewers rather than from film-makers to make “entertaining” movies as if viewers have loads of money and time that they can throw on watching scrap movies and viewers’ only business in life is to make film producers rich!

    Just an “original” or “different” tag is not enough to make a movie run. “Circus” was an alleged thrilled which failed to thrill, Love Guru was a single tracked amateur movie, IPC was a poor remake of some English movie, MBMI was boring. Eddhelu Manjunatha was a hit.

  41. Manasaarefan on December 21st, 2009 6:08 pm

    Hitala gida modalla antha nammavarra kathe,aage illi yella Ravikumar avare.Unlike in other industries neither medias nor producers nor directars are professionals.The so called directars lacks consistency , content and all are 1 to 5 movies wonders.Our industry has highly talented actors otherwise how can Sharukhkhan couldnt do “OM” and Rajani couldnt do”Jogi”.Look the number of good movies lined up–Sugreeva,Policequarters,Tamassu,Super,Jackie,JMM,Aptharakshaka,Directarspecial,Bhat’s new movie.

  42. Ravikiran kamble on December 21st, 2009 5:49 pm

    lets hope upcoming oof beat movies like GOKULA, SUGREEVA, KALLARA SANTHE, HARIKATHE, POLICE QUATERS… do good business……

  43. Ravikiran kamble on December 21st, 2009 5:46 pm

    I totally disagree with some of u guys… there were good swamake movies released this year which were not the usual ‘longu-macchu’ or ’son-mom-sis’ sentiments..
    CIRCUS, EDDHELU MANJUNATHA, AUTO, KALAKAAR, LOVE GURU, IPC-SECTION 300, , MALE BARALI MANJU IRALI, YAARUDHU…. But how many of us watched these and appreciated the attempts..? We spend all our energy in criticizing than watching the movie… Tamil & Telugu movie goers always speak about the positive points of their movies, even if the movie is a crap. And we always feel proud in highlighting even the smallest mistakes in our movies….. We are at last when it comes to watching and supporting the good movies, but are always first in unhealthy criticism.

  44. Rao on December 21st, 2009 1:02 pm

    @KFI

    Well i tried to putforth my thoughts as a choosy movie goer nothing else.I repeat again dont view all movies in same barometer and fixed mindsets.
    This is innovative and different movie as per reports.

  45. KFI on December 20th, 2009 6:49 pm

    @John Max,
    Gurgale, naanu “golden star” ganesha-na abhimani anta yellu heLkonde illvalla… Avna movies kelavu chennagidaave ashte… But, he is in “mungaru male” hangover and it is not good for his career and audience… Generally, his films are more “watchable” than Shivaraja Kumara’s or Duniya Vijay’s trashes (like Nanda Loves Nandita, Hatrick Hodi Maga, Devru etc. etc.)…. But, as I said earlier, ganesha’s movies are becoming monotonous…

  46. Jayanth on December 20th, 2009 5:22 pm

    Movie is disturbing….souls.

  47. Jayanth on December 20th, 2009 5:20 pm

    Inspired from JohnQ,hollywood movie of 2007.The subject is purely for general audiences as mentioned by all.

  48. John Max on December 20th, 2009 12:52 pm

    This is a totally new script. Its by a Malayalam director…Its not a remake.
    This is the year of Shivanna…Watch out…CNN, Sugreeva and Thamassu will break all the KFI records.

    KFI first advise ur Golden star Ganesh to stop remaking his own films.

  49. niranjan on December 20th, 2009 12:19 pm

    Its a remake of malayalam film Bhagawan.

  52. box office on December 20th, 2009 3:26 am

    Shuru aythappa…yaradru kannada movies na support madlilla andre avru tamilians. These stupid people just blindly support bad movies . That is the reason why our industry is in crisis. People dont make sensible movies at all. There were only 2 or 3 good movies this year. Either longu macchu or amma maga crying.

  53. KFI on December 19th, 2009 10:08 pm

    @Rao,
    What are you trying to say?!! My head hurts after reading your post… Well, leave that…. Now, it is not “hatred” about any films… it’s called “criticism”…. everyone has enough rights to criticize bad movies (and also to retaliate the flames of fanbois)

  54. Rao on December 19th, 2009 7:14 pm

    Some members deliberately writes nonsense and lies for strange and hilarious reasons citing that those who posts some matters about movies are doing strange and paid services.What the heck?.In almost all topics we can find these liars and jealousy guys.As per as i concerned ,i am choosy and avoids formula movies.If you love sandalwood and language obviously there is no room for hatredness .But these guys desperately tell that they are all die hard Kannada lovers ,no kidding realy.
    From the informations which we are all gathered from various sources of medias,its thriller subject meant for general audiences.This is what the current generation and trend expects out of any heros.The 18 hours shoot is unique ,rare and historical venture which keeps sandalwood in high regards in International map in unique manner.”IDHUSAADYA” was shot in 48 hours and some tulu in 24 hours,now this one surprasess those and earns place in high way.The subject dealing with hijacking of hospitial and rest matters has been furnised in the article.The element of risk in boxoffice is too less since the budget itself is less no need to explain all especialy to..Nowadays tv rights has skyrocketed lot and will fetch lucrative one.
    Regarding all general audiences movies ,there are more then 10 in the last decade and 15 in last 11/2 decades with allied subjects and intentions.So there is no truths about these matters.
    Its not must to like each and every movie,but neverever there is unique one dont see that in yellow eyes by default.

I believe his good (i.e. not only for “fans”) movies in recent movies were “Om” and “A.K. 47″… All others were trash, simply being proclaimed as hits by “fans” (and paid fanbois)…..

  57. Suresh on December 19th, 2009 9:48 am

    KFI and box office are imported from tamilnadhu,sandalwood better ignore thier senseless comments.

  58. box office on December 19th, 2009 7:20 am

    I agree with you..SR kumar has no standards…all his recent movies are worthless even reading reviews..His feminine voice is annoying..atleast he must use somebody for voice dubbing.

  59. KFI on December 18th, 2009 9:58 pm

    @Sandalwood,
    Dude, I don’t see much sarcasm here.. If Shivaraja Kumara makes good movies (movies that are not only good to his “fans”) and improves his dialogue delivery, then general public (not “fans”) would appreciate his movies…
    Whatever movies he churns out on a weekly basis are actually trashes, worth for nothing (except for his “fans”)…. He has become a “sarkaari nata”, rolling out useless films wasting producers’ money or helping producers to make their black money white (this is what he is doing I think)

    KFI
    Shivanna has only actor to implement all kinds of Kannadas in his movie,also check about novel based movies he shares honour for most along with Ananthnag.

  66. Chandru on December 15th, 2009 10:35 pm

    As for as I know, Sugreeva is a story of hospital hijacking.. Not bank robbery.

  67. KFI on December 15th, 2009 10:01 pm

    Shivaraja kumara goes to rob some bank in order to get money for his lover’s operation. He plans the robbery well, but somehow gets caught and police surround the bank. And then…

    Movie chennaagirutteno, aadre shivaraja kumara will ruin it by his***-like dialogue delivery.

  68. kumar on December 15th, 2009 9:06 pm
