Suri Finds Heroine for Jackie
Suri, who until now selected Kannada girls for all his three movies (Duniya, Inthi Ninna preethiya and Junglee), has now selected a girl from other language for his new film Jackie with Puneeth Rajkumar. Bhavana alias Karthika Menon, who is currently seen with Ajith in Tamil film Asal, is the new heroine for Suri’s Jackie.
Bhavana entered the film industry in 2002 with Malayalam film Nammal, and went on to act with bigwigs of the industry like Mohan Lal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi. Incidentally, Kannada was the only language she had not acted in South India and Suri has fulfilled that deficiency in her portfolio.
With that, all films from Puneeth Rajkumar since Milana have non-Kananda girls in them. It was Parvati in Milana, Hansika Motwani in Bindaas, Nikhitha in Vamshi, Nisha Kothari in Raaj-The Showman, Priyamani (of course, she is born in Karnataka, but her forte is still other language films) in Raam, Parvathy again in Prithvi, and now Bhavana in Jackie.

As a well wisher of Industry i see lot of prejudices and misconceptions about SRK from your side.Remember well he is one and only person indulging in path breaking movies from his early days.Now Thammasu ,CNN. Sugreeva are not the kind of movies which you tends to presume by default.Any actor must satisfy all kinds of audiences then only he can become complete .Except him others have not cared a little for supporting and encouraging upcoming directars.
Dude what rebirth you directar has given???????????????when SRK had lot of 25 weeks and 100 days before OM, dont post without knowing facts and figures.

Agree with KFI on this! @Venky – Each time kannada film industry was going through a prolonged slump – it has been uppis pathbreaking films that have lifted the spirits- in the late 80′s, mid and late 90′s.. You cannot make (read direct) a lousy movie and expect it to be a hit almost everytime.. Uppi’s films although a bit coarse and refreshingly different and entertaining.. As an actor (for other directors) – I feel uppi’s failed miserably… poor selection of movies I guess! But he has a rare and different insight into film making – arguably one of the best in India in recent times…

Okay, to do some justice to your “Just Math Mathalli” kind of loong post, I wasted few minutes to read it. Okay, here goes.. If you don’t have patience or time to read this, then you can tl;dr this..
First of all, a hero is as responsible as director while making a movie. So, SRK or Challenged Star can not simply put the blame on “dumb” directors for making stupid movies (like “Nanda”, “Hodimaga”, “Satya in love”, “Paramesha Panwala”, “Gaja”, “Abhay” etc.). So, I “dragged” few of our super duper actors into this discussion. They should say “no” to such movies. Even Uppi should not have done stupid movies like “Omkara”, “Masti”, “Rajani” etc.
1) Regarding “Tharle Nan Maga”: This movie simply revolutionized witty double entendre dialogues and launched a stupendous actor Jaggesh. This helped to build Jaggesh his career. And, not all movies are meant to be watched with mothers and sisters. Do you watch “American Pie” with you mother and sisters? If you need to watch it alone, it should be good enough (not stupid like Ravi mama’s “Rama Krishna” or “Nanda”). Ellaroo “Tharle Nan Maga” film nodi maja maadirore, aadre helkololla ashte (pseudo-saachagalu).
2) Sssh: What, no story and only p0rn?????? If you need p0rn, just Google dude! Why do you want to concentrate on few bits and pieces scene in this movie?? I think you have not seen this film or you seem to be an idiot. This is simply one of the best thriller movies in Kannada film industry so far. Nobody did horror-thriller like this and I think nobody in KFI is capable of doing a movie like this (recently some newbie named “Nage Habba” Adarsh did a horror-thriller that was ridiculous to watch). Again, “Ssh” had superb screenplay and script. And, on sex scenes, those are nothing when compared to Challenged Star’s item songs and Ravi mama’s “usage” of heroines. They are not at all overdone, you are simply nitpicking.
3) Swastik: After Uppi gave a rebirth to SRK’s failling career via “Om” movie, I think Raj family wanted Uppi to give a similar hit to Raghanna. Alas, Uppi didn’t knew that nobody can lift that clown.
4) A: You should have respected the film’s tagline and not watched the movie. Yours is a case of wolf and sour grapes.
5) Operation Antha: This was a normal run of the mill movie made to suit Ambi’s image. There’s not much “Uppiness” here. This movie indeed was bad, overdone..
6) Upendra: Refer point 4 above. And, even though few things were over the top (typical in late 90s), the ideas in this movie were out of the box. After seeing all other stupid movies churned weekly by other “heroes” of KFI, this movie was a refreshingly chaotic experience!!! There is a proverb called “God is in details”, and the attention to detail in this movie is superb. I am in no mood to tell it all now. You will find superb elements if you have observed events in movie and screenplay closely. Regarding the issue of showcasing woman in bad taste, you should see Challenged Star’s and Ravi mama’s movies to see the real meaning. Not Upendra.
7) OM: Cult classic movie. It could have been still better if lead character had better dialogue delivery. This movie spawned a new genre in KFI and the movie style was copied in so many other movies that came later. SRK failed to give such good movies except AK47.
Uppi’s next film “Super” symbol is definitely going to be superb and will be a blockbuster. A real blockbuster, not like hyped hits of your favorite actors. I choose Uppi’s movies anyday over some stupid longu, machchu, Jogi or Sai Prakash movies.
Uppi is simply one of the best and intelligent directors in KFI now. Only Guruprasad can surpass Uppi in terms of concepts and intelligence in scripts. I know that everybody knows why Uppi didn’t make movies from a long time. May be same thing might happen to Yograj Bhat or Guruprasad in near future (I hope not).
Who cares about Padmashri or Bharatha Ratna or Jnaana Peeta!!?! Idealisms of these awards are dead now. If you have money or paid fanboys, they can get one award. How do you think Mr. U.R.A got Jnaana Peeta award?

We watched A and upendra buying tickets for 50/75 way back in 1998/9…but today we might not because we’re not boys anymore..but other young ppl might be interested in super just like we were for A etc
My point is that there is no use in mud-slinging, you have to watch what you like, and ignore movies you dont like.
Heroine is cute.Puneeth and Soori are lethal combination all set to create big waves in Industry.

I am speaking of intelligence of your intelligent director not about any actor. Compare director to a director not to an actor. If you can’t defend your words that UPPI is a intelligent Director do not try to drag Darshan / Shivrajkumar as they are not directors. You are trying to turn the attention of our discussion somewhere else by dragging actors. The language you have used show the culture of you. I will give few records of your intelligent director by which I substantiate my arguments.
1) Tharle Nana Maga : CD’s are available. Please watch the same in your house with your mother & sister & let me know your reaction. Only Tharle”s saw that third class movie.
H2O: ( Only Story). If you watch that movie there is no story in that movie. From starting to ending two different language guys are fighting for a single girl. Producer lost all his money in water(H2O)
2)Ussh : No story. Only few sex scenes of side actress with your intelligent director Guru Kasinath. One song, stunts & photography was watchable.
3) Swastik : God knows how Rajkumar family accepted that story. Utter flop movie.
4) A : With a tag line of “ Buddivantriga Maatra”. To understand that I watched it twice
In theatre & twice in Tv. Not able to understand till know. Real intelligent person are the people who has not watched that movie.
5) Operation Antha: One more utter flap movie. After this movie Ambarish has not got single hit in all this 13 years.
6) Upendra: In this movie, your director needs one women for LOVE, one women for SEX & One women for spending her Wealth. Got all kind of treatment like cow dug smearing on his posters for this intelligence from various women organization. This movie showcasted our Indian Women in a very bad taste.
7)OM : The only movie which is recognizable of your directors Intelligence.
Having so much of a –ve points can you ever call him a intelligent director. In selection of Film name also their will be no connection between the film name & the story at all.
After Symbol I guess his next ventures are Sign Board, Red Signal…. One more word. No intelligent person in any field will sit idle for a day. They will always be in search of new ideas, creativity,Innovation,Thinking, Etc If your director was sitting idle for 10years people will understand your director intelligence. Do not thing I am against Uppi. But true facts cannot be hidden. Do not recognize any one who is not worth for that name since this words will lose its value if it is referred to unworthy person like our GOI referring Padmashri to SAIF ALI KHAN, Bharat ratna to M.G.R. etc

I have seen all movies of uppi. Not with my family. You ask any cultured family members regarding your intelligent director . You will get your answer. Films should have a good social message nor a good entertainer, not to spread a bad culture among young guys. In all your intelligent director movies he sees women in a very bad taste for which he has already received lot of protest from women organisation. I guess you belong to a said culture family.

I didn’t say that I guessed the movie quality by seeing poster. Why don’t you learn to read comments fully and properly? I am saying that “Super” symbol movie will be damn good because it is being directed by Uppi and that too after a long gap in his directorial ventures. Uppi is one of the most intelligent directors in KFI today. I think you have not seen any of the movies directed by Uppi. You seem to be a fake-ster…

Check out page3 and see just to have their snap published on page 3, to what extent gals go.. Films are much bigger stake than a snap on page 3.
