Audio Review by N.Jagadish

Vaayuputhra-Aindrita The specialty of V. Harikrishana is that he churns out at least one out of the box tune for every album of his. Whether it is o gunavantha from Jothe Jotheyali or modada olage from Payana or the recent record breaker ae paro from Raj, they all stand in different lane when you consider the kind of music that is coming out of the Sandalwood. But the hit factory of most wanted composer of Kannada industry seems to have gone on a vacation while producing this album. Vayuputhra doesn’t have a single trade mark Harikrishna hit number in it. The album appears to be made in a hurry with some childishly written lyrics.

The album has six songs in it. All tunes are run-on-the-mill types with sprinkle of instrumental excellence of Harikrishna here and there. But no song gives you that whole listening experience as Harikrishna’s tunes would have given usually.

Bhagavanta Banda: (Karthik and chorus): The track appears a usual college student’s song with heavily misplaced English words and unwanted rapping in between. The song is a usual rock affair with tapanguchi beats in the beginning and in the middle. It would have made a bearable hearing if the lyricist had moved his pen sensibly.

Baa Bare: (Rahul nambiyar, Jyothsna): It’s a love track with the words conveying teasing sense between the voices. The song though starts on promising note but fails to maintain the tempo. It’s a usual beating retreat kind of song with the drum beating from start to end. You can hum beginning few lines and that’s it.

Vayuputhra

Rock Your Body: (Tippu, Jyothsna): The song in the beginning gives you the hint of that trade mark unusual Harikrishna number. But the use of English lines and voices who are rendering them spoils the party. But if you could avoid those English murmuring you will surely enjoy the beat that goes on beating your head until you sway it. It is the only song in the album that might create some flutters.

Yaare Yaare Ammammaa: (Rajesh Krishnan): It is a usual you-are-the-shine-moon-breath-soul kind of song but Rajesh has made it unusually pleasant by his sweet voice. Wonder why cant musicians find such talents here in our soil. You might feel that you have heard this song several times as it has the usual hoyya-re, hoyya-re feel to it but you should lend your ears solely for Rajesh. Thanks to the lyricist for finally writing some good lines.

Bhoomi Namma Jeeva: (Amul Raj, Priya.H): It’s carnival mood song with the lines praising lord Shiva. It is on the lines of usual filmy jathra song where we get people singing and dancing for the beating of tapanguchi drums.

Banda Gandara Ganda: (Vandemataram Srinivas): When you have veteran like Ambarish in the movie and no song praising his character, that’s impossible. So we have a song or rather a bit for him. There is nothing to write about this song.
