Vishnuvardhans 200th film: Apthamitra II
Vishnuvardhan is getting philosophical these days. If you read his interviews and statements, it sometimes appears that the man is on his way to embrace sainthood. But don’t worry; amidst all these philosophical discourses and worrying reclusiveness, the legend has quietly finished 198 films in the tinsel town.
While his 199th film, Naane bere, nanna style bere, is yet to be completed, talks are on about his 200th film. Gandhinagar is pregnant with rumors that it’s gonna be a sequel to his hugely successful Apthamitra. Earlier, Gandhinagar grapevine suggested that S. Narayan would direct the film. But may be the people close to Vishnuvardhan watched Chaitrada Chandrama in theatre and didn’t like what unfolded in front of their eyes. Now, P. Vasu, who directed the original Apthamitra will be directing the sequel as well.
Many of the earlier actors from the original film will not be a part of this new film. Krishnakumar, who was the Co-Producer of Apthamitra will make a debut as a full time producer with this movie.
