Yodha Music Review

(2/5) Audio Review by Hitha Gujjar
This album explains why Hamsaleka should retire. The album sounds like it belongs to 90’s era. Though his creative juices are very much flowing, he’s forgotten to channelise them. On the lyrics front, Hamsaleka might as well stick to one language than mix many. The lyrics are desultory and to make up for the flaws, it has one ultra-nationalist song in two versions. If at all the songs become a sellout, it is only because Darshan stars in the movie, or the songs are being jeered at. But whatever said and done the chanteuses do their part of the job well.
Lip to Lip (Jessie Gift and Chitra K S): When the music starts, so does the expectation… but then it falls. Hamsaleka should and could have done way better. The lyrics do not rhyme. Jessie Gift and Chitra K S do a fairly neat job under the assumption that the pronunciations in Kanglish are meant to be that bad. But apart from all this, the tempo is still on. Jessie’s gifted voice suits Darshan very well.
Idhu Namm India (Chitra K S): The song does not belong to 2009. Its sounds like a cliché patriotic song. Does Patriotism always have the same tone? Although it would be against suggestions, if you happen to listen to this song, what you can lend your attention towards are the tabla and mrudhangam components. They add some life to the song. Chitra does a fantastic job.
Mangalya Tantunanena (Rajesh Krishnan and Nandini): Midway through the album and already sulking. This song stops that sulking for a few seconds and then makes you want to switch it off. Seems like Hamsalekha ran out of lyrics and made the singers sing out sound effect like daga daga….There are some parts that have been copy-pasted from the song Nagada from Jab we met. This song is not recommended. If at all this song gets popular, its only because Darshan stars in the movie.Adulation for Rajesh Krishnan’s exhilarating start.
Sooriya Nodayya Namma Jodiyaa (Peter, Anuradha Shriram): When it starts, your expectation begins to rise. It is just like a song sung at the orchestra. Sounds very dull. Many disappointments in the production work and the singers, Anuradha Shriram and Peter sound happy only to fake it.
Idhu Namm India (Vijay Yesudas): Considering it as the last song of the album, one might skip it but its worth listening to only because of Vijay Yesudas. But since it’s the same lyrics by Hamsalekha, it’s really lull. Although less of Kanglish lyrics used here, on serious thoughts Hamsaleka should just stick to one language either Kannada or English.

darshan is a hopeless actor.. hopeless and deadpan dialogue delivery… like shivaraja kumara..
why this moron producer went for hamsalekha? hams should be banned from kfi.
Hamsa lekha is not suitable for Darshan’s routine mass movies. He is apt for family dramas provided directars are good enough to extract well from him.
Lip to Lip is sung by our own Kannada singer CHAITRA. H.G and not CHITRA KS. Please correct this mistake
