Yograaj Bhat finds the girl for his Lagori

November 14th, 2008 at 10:07 am

As a whole new group of clueless newcomers invade the Kannada film industry, the star kids too are testing the waters. After Nakshatra, daughter of bombat director D. Rajendra Babu entered the industry with Sunil Kumar Desai’s Sarigama, it’s now the turn of Dr. Jayamala’s daughter Soundarya to make her debut.

And the lady couldn’t have dreamt of a better platform for her arrangetram. She will be the leading lady for Puneeth in Yogaraj Bhat’s new film Lagori, which has already generated huge expectations in the industry. Saundharya has taken acting courses in the Namit Kapoor institute.

Earlier, it was rumored that Telugu star Trisha would be playing the lead role opposite Puneeth, which she later denied. Priyamani’s name was also doing the rounds along with Meera Jasmine.

The film is produced by Rockline Venkatesh and the music is scored by Arjun. It is said that the film will be shot extensively in New Zealand and US. Satya Hegde is the cameraman for the film.

Manomurthy is a copy cat and needless to say he has no talent. Only his music in Milana and Maadesha songs were good, MAINLY BECAUSE IT’S DIRECTORS PRAKAASH & RAVI DEMANDED QUALITY ORIGINAL WORK FROM HIM.

    Bharadwaj,
I agree with your views on Manomurthy’s Music. If one listens his music we can find the same type of music. Poor Mano, i think he is not having any other instruments then the exisiting one. Trying different music with same rythm using same instruments. Let us rent some instruments to him.
In Haage Summane some songs are of old tunes, songs feel like mid 90s.
I agree that Manomurthy gives good and melodies music, but still he don’t want to take risk.
In recent years i see very good music directors have come up and giving very good music and bringing Kannada music at the top.
Very quality Movies are coming up in KFI, Thanks to MM, where things changed, People are trying different, eg the recent one was PSYCHO, where are people belong to Karnataka, ofcourse we are INDIANS first.

It’s good that they have found kannada girl to play opposite powerstar.

As regards music, i have read somewhere earlier in yograj bhat’s interview claiming mano murthy has composed some tunes for lagori (yograj bhat should make sure that these compositions should not anywhere reflect manomurthy’s earlier compositions, since now a days manomurthy just rehashes his old numbers, best example being all songs of haage summane movie. However, suddenly arjun’s name is being cropped up as music director for lagori. I presume arjun may provide background music while mano murthy’s so called melody tunes will be used for songs.

Anyways, let us hope yograj bhat will take sufficient care in finalising the tunes for this already hyped extravaganzaa.

Earlier, there was a news that Meera Jasmine would be doing the heroing apposite Powerstar. It ‘s good that they have found kannada girl to act in this movie. With regards to music, I read somewhere in Yograj Bhat’s interview, Manomurthy has arelady composed very beautiful songs and they have been finalised.

I feel Yograj Bhat should do quality check of mano murthy’s compositions for this movie, since now a days mano murthy has done some rehashes of his earlier compositions. For example, almost all the songs of Haage Summane movie in some way or the other sounds like MM, Cheluvina Chittaara, Moggina Manasu, MIlana, Geleya etc.

But suddenly Arjun’s name is cropping up as Music Director for this movie. I presume Manomurthy will compose music for songs, while Arjun will provide backgroung music for the movie. Anyways, Arjun is a quality composer.

I am looking forward to listen to the songs.
